I am is a bicultural therapist, mother and wife who is passionate about supporting my clients while they navigate their unique life, relationships, and transitions. I was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. I have a BA in Psychology and a master’s degree in Somatic Counseling Psychology from Naropa University. I am trained in trauma-based therapy and EMDR. I can support you both in English and Spanish. As a somatic therapist, I believe in the phenomenal connection between body and mind. I work to help her clients understand and establish a close relationship with their bodies. My somatic training supports the healing process by helping clients understanding how tuning into the nervous system alone can generate more wellbeing in daily life. I work with families, couples, children, teens and adults. As a therapist, I advocate and work with people of diverse backgrounds. My main lens is on the importance of how relationships shape who we are. I have experience working within various forms of attachment-based therapy and utilizes a trauma informed perspective to meet her clients where they are. My main purpose is to create a safe space to explore and unfold the process of self-discovery, healing, and growth. I am passionate about my clients and the specific supports they’re seeking and know how to apply my training at the level others can understand. When it comes to breaking down barriers, I believe in the power of understanding, exploring, and joining around challenges that can often lead to division and disconnection with self and others. In my work I find that it’s very important to feel seen and recognized in ways that are compassionate and respectful on all accounts. I like to laugh a lot and finds that rushing into things or placing timelines on major life processes can sometimes be unrealistic in the therapeutic setting. In my eyes I see that each of us has a unique understanding around our own timing and rhythm in the world, especially when challenged with life transitions. Offering therapy online.
Sometimes words don't cut it. Are you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or seeking a safe space to explore your inner world? Art therapy uses tools that take traditional talk therapy to the next level by giving you an embodied experience. The heart of my practice is believing people are their own experts. You are the ONLY you with your exact values, experiences, routines, heartaches, and desires. I want you to feel seen, foster a deeper understanding of your journey, and find answers and solace through your own innate intuition. If you're new to art therapy you may not be aware of how creativity can open new doors of understanding and connection. Sometimes we get stuck on a judgmental message from 1st grade that we aren’t “good” at artmaking. Well, I say forget that! You ARE inherently creative and it’s okay to heal using both the logical AND intuitive sides of your brain. You get to lead at your comfort level and I will authentically support you using tools and techniques (whether open-ended or more structured) to guide you. If you are seeking space to work through an issue you're having, improve self-esteem, cope with anxiety or depression, manage stress, deal with relationship or parenting issues, process trauma, or just vent, consider reaching out to me.
I specialize in evidence based therapies (CBT, ACT, DBT) that have been validated by extensive research studies. Using these treatment approaches, I am committed to helping individuals solve numerous problems, promote personal growth and make desired changes to enhance life experiences. I provide these contemporary psychotherapy services in a private, tranquil, peaceful environment, where I collaborate with my clients to tailor treatment to their specific needs. I am here to help you, and your loved ones, enhance daily living through cognitive behavior therapy that is grounded in compassion, understanding and empathy. My clinical expertise focuses on a wide range of problems, including anxiety, panic, worry, OCD, depression, test anxiety, sports-performance anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder, insomnia, and relationship problems. I also have great success helping individuals minimize daily stressors, navigate life transitions and increase effective coping.
Fundamentally, my aim is to support my clients in contacting their inner self-knowing, and "make friends" with all of the various parts of themselves in the warmth and security of this inner space. To achieve this, I practice person-centered therapy, with a strong emphasis on somatic awareness. When working with clients, I am listening for "what wants to be heard" that day. In my view, I am a supportive and curious observer, and my job is to reflect back to my client what I am seeing. My style tends to be more direct, and I regularly encourage my clients to take ownership over their treatment and to trust themselves. In a first session with me, we explore where you've been, where you are, and where you would like to go. Often, I invite people to tell me their story and then describe their current situation. We will work together to assess what feels like the most supportive areas of focus, and will create some goals which guide our future sessions. During this process, however, you can still expect curiousity, empowerment, and validation. What's most important in any session is establishing a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship.

Healing begins in safe, connected spaces - our practice is built on core values that guide both how we show up as clinicians and how we walk alongside our clients. At Root & Rise Collective, we value connection over correction, curiosity over judgment, and integration over quick fixes. We approach our work with healing that extends far beyond surface-level change.

We've all heard that life is about balance, but who teaches us how to find that balance? It's hard enough under normal circumstances, but when life throws a curveball that changes your routine, it can feel like you're walking a tightrope. Add other people's needs and expectations to the mix, and finding balance for yourself can seem downright impossible. You don't have to navigate it on your own - I'm here to help! Let's work together to help you become a happier, healthier version of yourself. My therapy sessions are a space for the helpers, healers, carers, and people-pleasers that I work with, to prioritize their OWN needs. At bare minimum, you can count on being seen and acknowledged for who you are, not just for what you can provide or achieve. This on its own can be healing, and will serve as the foundation for our work together. I take a very collaborative approach to treatment, and recognize you as the expert of your own goals, needs, and experiences. Together we'll identify what parts of your life feel out of whack, how you'd like things to look different, and what manageable and realistic steps you can take to get there. We'll gently challenge any thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and beliefs that might be keeping you stuck. I also like to teach tools and skills that you can use outside of our sessions to help combat anxiety, improve communication, make difficult decisions, avoid impulsive responses, and cope with life's challenges. I am a strong believer that therapy should be a partnership. Like any strong relationship, the therapeutic relationship needs to be built on trust. I strive for transparency at every step. If I'm teaching a particular skill, I'll tell you about the science behind the skill and why it works. When it comes to mental health diagnoses, we're gonna talk through it together. It shouldn't feel like the work is happening mysteriously behind a curtain - I'm always happy to explain why I'm asking certain questions and where my head is at during our sessions. In the vast majority of situations, I believe that people are just trying to survive in the best way they know how. Your responses may not be serving you well at this juncture in life, but they got you this far, and I think it's important to honor that. If you are seeking therapy, you've already overcome adversity and have some amazing resilience and survival skills. My job is to help you build upon those strengths that you already have. I genuinely look forward to working with you!
My therapeutic approach is strengths-based. I work with my clients to identify skills and assets and emphasize and refine them over time. Collaboratively, we look for new methods of coping and healing. I have specialized training in suicide-loss, trauma, LGBTQIA+, gifted and talented, grief and loss as well as ketamine-assisted therapy. I was also on the US Ski Team so I understand the psychology of performance and pressure.
As a therapist my goal is to serve as a thought partner to recognize, analyze, and eventually untie the tethers that hold clients back from their best lives. Together, with nature as our muse, we will embark on this work. Therapy is an iterative process by which participants are able to free themselves and recognize their own purpose and power.
Hello! Welcome. I am a psychologist working via tele health and provide a welcoming positive approach to therapy. I recognize that young adults in college are having many new experiences and some can be intimidating and stressful. If you are experiencing anxiety, depression or feelings of being overwhelmed and uncertain, please consider convenient therapy with me.
If anxiety, intrusive thoughts, OCD, phobias or depressive thoughts take up too much space in your life, I will work with you to uncover their sources. You can establish and engage in useful coping skills that will allow you to spend less time battling your thoughts and more time living the life you want. If you're a couple struggling with relationship concerns, I will work with you to restore harmony in your relationship and strengthen your connection. I aim to provide a safe, warm and non-judgmental environment for my clients to explore their emotions, while also feeling comfortable and validated when sharing experiences, thoughts and behaviors. I practice using evidence-based modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (RO-DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), as well as self-compassion and mindfulness techniques. Gottman Method Couples Therapy informs my work with couples. If you choose therapy as a next step, I would be honored to work with you and support you in your journey of self-growth and healing! Zyan also brings in elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help build skills to address what struggles you may be facing. It can be hard to reach out for support for many different reasons, and even looking at clinicians online is a noteworthy step. Please feel free to reach out to them to see if it would be a good next step.
Hello, When life feels overwhelming, unmanageable, or just not enjoyable, getting out of bed in the morning can be hard. Going to work, school, interacting with family or friends, and looking forward to tomorrow can feel like torture. When in this dark place, focusing and making decisions can seem impossible and life is just a daily grind with no enjoyment in site. Life changes catch you off guard and to adjust to the new situation you just need support. Whatever the situation, this may be your present, but it does not have to be your future. Relief from this prison is possible and feeling alive again can happen. Help is a phone call away. I provide you the opportunity to improve, adjust, and balance your life. The focus of your counseling will be whatever is most important to you. This may include life transition, depression, anxiety, grief & loss, self-image, relationship issues, or alcohol/drug use. Working together we can help you to find the happier and healthier future that is possible. No matter who you are, there is hope and help. Although counseling is a process, it is well worth the time and effort. In my office there is safety to talk about your issues, fears, or secretes. There is never judgment and you are in control. I would love to help you. In my practice, my goal is helping others to take back control of life – to feel joy in the little things and finding peace in the chaos. I strive to be a guide, walking with you and not pushing you to the future you want. You may have had past experiences of counseling that were negative. As you are different from everyone else, counselors are also different. I will show you a positive counseling experience. I view counseling as a collaborative relationship – one without judgment, expectations, or force. You deserve to be heard and valued unconditionally. You are the expert on your life and situations, so I will listen and hear you to understand your needs, wants, and desires. Together we will create a plan for reaching your goals.
