I work best with students and young adults seeking therapy that is real, human, and grounded — not scripted or sanitized. Many of the people I work with are dealing with grief, loss, or a major shift in their lives. That loss might be the death of someone important, the end of a relationship, or a quieter kind of grief — losing a sense of direction, identity, or meaning. You don’t have to be in crisis to reach out. Many clients I work with are functioning on the outside while feeling disconnected, restless, or overwhelmed underneath. I grew up in the Bronx and came to this work through a mix of lived experience, creative work, and clinical training. I listen closely, speak honestly, and work with you at a pace that actually feels human.

I have significant experience working with clients all over the world. I have worked with orphans in Mexico that were survivors of significant trauma and abuse and in Colombia with a group of displaced women, survivors of war. My therapeutic focus centers on the integration of the body and the mind in order to help my clients flourish. I am passionate about offering clients the opportunity to strengthen the gifts they have, and thrive. I work with college students from diverse backgrounds - those striving to bring their lives and their dreams together -- to help them achieve happy and healthy relationships. In addition to having extensive training in body psychotherapy, I have also trained in women's issues, EMDR, and domestic violence. I specialize in treating trauma and also anxiety, and obsessive compulsive disorder. I currently offer my services in both Spanish and English at my private practice.

I spent much of my adult life working in Emergency Medicine as a Paramedic before going to the Physician Assistant program at Loma Linda University in Southern California. After graduating from there in 2018, I spent the past five years working in addiction medicine in a residential treatment program in Boulder, Colorado. Working in addiction medicine, I commonly assisted adult patients, of all ages, dealing with anxiety, depression, cravings, withdrawal symptoms and sleep challenges. Patients would often come to me wanting to reduce their amount of medications to just what was helpful and necessary and I would take a lot of pride in helping them achieve that goal. Genetic testing provides a helpful tool to initially choose, change or adjust a dose of a particular medication. I believe that it is important to meet an individual where they are in the healing process and to address the whole person rather than just the presenting problem or symptom. To address the “whole person” requires getting a detailed history and a partnership between patient and provider. Establishing such a partnership gives me great joy.

I believe in the power of real human connection. Everyone deserves to feel heard, understood, and valued exactly as they are. My style is warm, client-centered, and grounded in curiosity. Alongside open dialogue, I use evidence-based approaches like ACT and DBT to help you manage anxiety, build stronger coping tools, and navigate life’s curveballs. I work with adults (18+) facing big transitions: starting college, figuring out who you are, exploring relationships and sexuality (including LGBTQ+ identities), or feeling stuck between worlds. As a bisexual therapist and someone who’s moved across cultures, I get what it’s like to question where you belong or how to move forward. I also support clients dealing with health challenges, athletic injuries, sexual health, chronic illness, eating disorders, and body image concerns. Outside of therapy, you’ll find me adventuring in the mountains. I see therapy a lot like a tough hike: challenging, sometimes uncomfortable, but deeply rewarding. I’m honored to walk alongside you as you find your own path.

Change is hard, and getting to know yourself is a process! Some of my clients are neurodivergent, and want support in adjusting to new surroundings and building new skills. I also work with people experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, and with other mental health concerns. My background is in somatic, movement-based counseling. In sessions, we might spend time learning more about what your body is telling you, and working with it to find balance and relief. Sessions can also look like talking about life, using expressive art to explore your emotions, or practicing mindfulness skills.

As a practicing psychologist for over 30 years (and a short time before that as an attorney), I understand the importance of having someone to speak with about our worries, questions, changes and even our daily lives. I see adults and adolescents who seek support in navigating stressful situations and not only reaching resolution on that issue, but also learning about themselves in deeper ways. I listen closely and with an open mind. I'm supportive and encouraging and help you make connections to patterns that can rework things you would like to change and do differently. Whether we are working on immediate problem resolution or exploring family/social dynamics, it's important that you feel understood, heard and supported in session. It's also important that you have direct, clear feedback that is experienced as helpful and insightful. Not every session is likely to be groundbreaking, but together, we can work toward defining and reaching your therapeutic goals.

My ideal female clients are independent, driven, and highly capable individuals, who feel disconnected from their true selves. They are successful in their careers and relationships, but feel something is missing. They often experience dissatisfaction, burnout, or unfulfilled potential because they are stuck in patterns that don’t align with their true desires or values. These women may feel like they are wearing a mask—pretending to be someone they’re not in different situations, whether it’s at work or in their personal lives. They’re often navigating relationship challenges, struggling with unhealthy dynamics, or feeling unfulfilled in their careers. They seek clarity, support, and guidance to uncover who they truly are, reconnect with their authentic selves, and build deeper, more meaningful relationships. Their primary goal is to break free from the patterns that keep them feeling stuck, develop a sense of fulfillment, and experience genuine connection both with themselves and others. They want to stop hiding behind a facade and start living life on their own terms—feeling empowered, authentic, and aligned with their values. Ultimately, these women want to create a life that feels true to them—a life that is full of joy, confidence, and deeper connection with others. Through therapy, they want to explore their true desires, heal from past patterns, and step into a life that’s fully aligned with who they are.

Genuine. Honest. Compassionate. I focus on helping adult clients overcome anxiety, phobias, and depression with cognitive behavioral therapy. Hello, I'm Rachel. Whether you are in acute distress or addressing long-standing problems, I know no one comes to therapy at their best. You will find no judgment here. As your psychologist, I will affirm your strengths—you have more than you realize!—and give you the tools to examine what's helping you, what's not, and how to change it. I am a licensed psychologist, practicing cognitive behavioral therapy to help people struggling with anxiety, phobias, and depression. I tailor evidence-based practices to each of my clients' specific needs. Prior to starting my private practice, I worked with adults in community mental health, youth in correctional facilities, and older adults in long-term care. I earned my PsyD from the University of Denver in 2008. I look forward to meeting you and working together.

I specialize in working with LGBTQ+ teens and adults navigating gender, sexuality, relationships, identity, and the emotional weight that can come with living authentically. My approach is warm, relational, and trauma-informed. I pay close attention to what's unfolding between us in the moment, while also helping you build practical tools for regulation, self-trust, and resilience. Our work might include somatic (body-based) practices, mindfulness, inner child and parts work, or deeper exploration of attachment, identity, and the systems we move through. I honor the realities of our sociopolitical climate and the ways it shapes queer and trans lives, and I aim to hold space that’s affirming, collaborative, and deeply respectful of your truth. Whether you're coming out, healing from trauma, or just trying to make sense of who you are and what you need, I’d be honored to walk alongside you. You don’t have to do it alone.
