Together, we’ll navigate your challenges at a pace that feels right for you, working toward clarity, healing, and personal growth
We treat patients with insomnia via telehealth. Our patients have 1. insomnia, 2. interest in tapering off sleeping pills, or 3. Both. We have a team of highly trained PhDs who can help. We take insurance for the telehealth sessions, and patients pay $9.99/mo for digital membership access (i.e. sleep logging and videos to stay engaged between sessions). We have experts for all ages (infants, children, teens, adults, and seniors. We treat insomnia using the first-line, research-backed treatment: Cognitive Behavioral Treatment for Insomnia (CBT-I). We know how challenging the impact of sleep loss can be on mood, cognitive function, work and school performance, energy, health, and social functioning. Our treatment is research-backed, brief, and helpful! Our patients are able to feel back in control over their sleep through the techniques they learn from our program.

My ideal clients are children or college students struggling with emotions, behavior, anxiety, or life transitions who need a safe, supportive space to feel understood and build coping skills. I also work with adults who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or emotionally disconnected. Clients come to therapy seeking emotional regulation, stronger relationships, clarity, and confidence. I help clients move forward by creating a compassionate, collaborative environment focused on resilience, self-understanding, and lasting change so they feel more balanced, connected, and supported in daily life.
Using a client-centered approach in an accepting and caring environment, I enjoy working with those who experience issues from trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, women's issues, and life transitional issues, such as marriage, separation, and divorce. We can work together to develop your individual goals to reach your greatest potential of well-being. I utilize the most current evidence based treatments in my practice to promote healing of the body and mind. I would love to meet with you to see if I would be a good fit for your needs! I received EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) training in 2016 and have been an EMDR certified therapist since 2018 and have been trained to utilize ego states and cognitive interweaves, flash technique, and other evidence based strategies within EMDR. I also utilize a client-centered approach with various treatment modalities in addition to EMDR to include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Relaxation and Stress Management Techniques, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Memory Reconsolidation in Trauma Therapy. I would love to meet with you to see if I would be a good fit for your needs!
Live and Thrive Counseling is my private practice in the community of Carrollton, Georgia. My office is close to the downtown area, but given the covid-19 changes in our daily living practices, my sessions are now fully online. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults that are struggling with depression, anxiety, poor body image, life transitions, self esteem issues, and trauma. As a registered yoga teacher (E-RYT 200) and a licensed professional counselor, I enjoy using the cognitive behavioral modality, given its heavy emphasis on mindfulness and cognitive restructuring. In addition to CBT concepts, sessions often include breathing exercises and relaxation strategy practice that the client can eventually learn to practice on his or her own to promote positive self care and healthy coping skills.

Hi! My name is Katie (she/her), and I’m excited to work together. My goal is to help you feel safe, comfortable, and free to open up at your own pace. I believe our experiences—past and present—shape the way we think, feel, and move through life. By exploring and validating your thoughts and emotions, we can start to untangle patterns, make sense of what feels overwhelming, and work toward healing. I’m here to support you whether you’re navigating depression, anxiety, grief, body dysmorphia, sexual and gender identity issues, relationship/work stress, and/or chronic illness. Finding the right words to express what you’re feeling isn’t always easy, and that’s okay. Sessions are tailored to what feels right for you. We’ll draw from psychodynamic, somatic, creative arts, and other trauma-informed approaches. Empathy, warmth, and humor are central to my practice, creating a space where you can explore and grow. Currently, I’m an MSW student at Yeshiva University in New York City and hold an MA in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University. Sometimes life feels overwhelming and out of control, and it can leave us feeling consumed by stress, anxiety, anger, depression, and hopelessness. While these emotions are an expected part of life, there are times they can grow so strong and intense that we feel powerless to manage them on our own. We may see their impact on various parts of our life – family, work, social relationships, our ability to feel pleasure, and our overall quality of life. If this resonates with you, if this is what you are experiencing, therapy can help. For more than 20 years, I’ve helped individuals face life’s challenges by assisting them in understanding their own emotional patterns and supporting them in making healthy choices. With time, effort, and the right tools, you can have a better outlook on any issues that life brings your way. Feeling uncertain and unsure where to start? Give me a call or message me to schedule your first appointment. My Experience and Practice Throughout my 20+ years of experience in community mental health, I have provided individual, family, and group therapy to adults and families with various diagnoses, struggles, and difficulties. My specialties are mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, personality disorders, self-esteem, adjustment issues, life transitions, and women's issues. I tend to have a more eclectic approach to therapy, drawing from multiple modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical-Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, as well as various trauma therapies, including Trauma-Focused CBT and Cognitive Processing Therapy. What to Expect: You determine your treatment goals, and together, we will identify the steps needed to reach them. Our work together will focus on developing the skills and tools necessary to effectively manage your emotions, handle distress, problem-solve, and have the life you want. We will work on improving those areas of your life that feel like a struggle. As you gain insight and understanding, self-growth occurs. With that growth comes change, and, in that change, you will find your life worth living. Life may feel dark now, but brighter days are ahead. Services are available in my office in Evans, GA, or via a secure telehealth platform. Insurance accepted: Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, United Healthcare, Oxford, and Oscar Health. I work with individuals navigating a range of challenges — whether it's anxiety, depression, relationship issues, stress, life transitions, or simply feeling stuck.

You want the thoughts on loop in your head to stop, so you can get some rest. You want to be your authentic self… once you figure out what that means.
