I enjoy working with individuals who would like to learn better tools and skills to manage internal experiences (thoughts, emotions, etc) so they can create a life that is uniquely meaningful and vibrant. Our minds are useful tools but they can also leave us feeling trapped. In our work together, you'll practice how to get "un-stuck" from your mind and have more control over your behaviors.
I specialize in partner betrayal, anxiety and pornography and sex addiction. I have experience in issues with lack of guidance, nurturing and support in the mother daughter relationship.
In our sessions, I create a safe, judgment-free space where we explore the reasons behind your feelings, work on breaking unhelpful habits, and try out new ways of thinking, like seeing situations from a different perspective and making choices based on your values. I use different types of therapy along with holistic approaches, to fit what works best for you. I also believe in using creative activities to help heal your inner child and express emotions in a healthy way. You are the expert on your own life—my role is to support you and ask important questions that help you grow. The goal is for you to live in a way that feels true to who you are, bringing together all parts of yourself so you can feel whole.

Psychotherapy is a highly individualized practice that can assist with a broad set of life problems. Each session carries the potential for change and growth. In my practice I strive to create deeply personal and meaningful experiences. I believe we best accomplish this by developing a mutual understanding of the concerns that have brought you to therapy, and then embarking on a collaborative process towards addressing your goals for treatment. I enjoy and welcome working with people from diverse backgrounds on a wide range of issues. I am a clinical associate faculty and an advanced candidate at the Chicago Center for Psychoanalysis. I earned my masters degree at the University of Chicago and worked for over 10 years as a community social worker in the psychiatry department at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
Many of us lead busy lives with little space to breathe, think, and make choices with clarity. We hold ourselves to unsustainable standards in our careers, relationships and as individuals. We may run from day to day with an anxious stream of thoughts, or float numbly with disconnection and over-scheduling as a way to avoid pain. Sometimes our expectations, goals and circumstances come at the expense of clarity and fulfillment. I work with individuals & couples to reconnect while understanding how the past impacts present living. We collaborate to build a foundation of skills that promote healing as individuals and within relationships. My approach is grounded in human capacity for growth using a humanistic and strength based approach. I incorporate these modalities for processing trauma, anxiety, depression, and performance blocks. Therapy should be a collaborative process that provides a safe space to rediscover your strengths, while understanding and creating meaning from experiences, relationships and culture. Integrating our past and present empowers us to become creators of our lives rather than observers. Let’s work together to discover your path towards healing with sustainable growth and inner happiness.

Are you finding that the strategies that seem to work for others don’t quite fit your brain? Together, we explore what this identity means for you in the context of academics, relationships, independence, and future goals. My practice is one that helps people better understand and work through feelings of stress, anxiety, and depression–especially those arising from difficulties with their schoolwork, questions about their future, challenges in their relationships with family members, friends, and/or partners, and experiences they have been having with acute or chronic illnesses (including cancer). When working with clients, I use both psychodynamic and existential techniques to explore not only their current concerns and behaviors, but also the deeper emotional, intellectual, and relational patterns that influence them. Some goals are to help people discover the true source of their pain and make real, lasting changes in their lives. If you are ready to feel more grounded, connected, and in control of your life, I invite you to reach out to me for a free consultation. During our call, we can talk about the hopes you have for therapy and discuss how best to achieve them. A little more about me: Before beginning work at in this field, I undertook clinical training at a site that provides therapeutic services to individuals impacted by cancer. During my time there, I gained valuable experience providing both one-on-one and group therapy to adults who had been diagnosed with cancer and their spouses, partners, and caregivers. Prior to that, I practiced as an attorney at a large, international firm in downtown Chicago, focusing primarily on complex commercial, product liability, and patent cases.
