You are sitting in therapy watching your therapist's lips move while she tells you for the fourth time that her cousin is gay and just got a “very butch” haircut. You can’t help thinking, “She just doesn’t get it.” He misgenders you, or forgets your partner’s pronouns, she pulls out Food and Mood, and he talks about how apple cider vinegar might be the solution to all your problems. She hasn't lived in a fat body. He hasn’t experienced homophobia or heterosexism from the inside. What initially seemed like a small hill to climb in your relationship has started to feel like a mountain. Maybe she tells you your black top is so slimming. Maybe once he referred to queer people as ‘homosexuals.’ Maybe, when you report your experiences of oppression, she tells you that the other party probably meant well and just wanted you to be healthier or have it easier in the world. You don’t trust him with your whole self, how can you? You’ve tried so many therapists in the past and she’s not that bad, is she? You continue to hope that therapy with a therapist who doesn’t quite get it will be enough to meet your needs. It’s not enough. You deserve a therapist who understands your lived experiences. You deserve a therapist who knows what it’s like to have your doctor prescribe weight loss to treat arthritis in your wrists, and who can truly hear it when you tell them about your experience with your homophobic aunt at Thanksgiving. You deserve a therapist who approaches the world with a solid intersectional anti-oppression framework that sees society, rather than some flaw in you, as the central piece of your problem. I can be that therapist. I’m fat, I’m queer, I have an intersectional lens, and I want to dismantle systems of oppression one client session at a time.

Are you struggling in school, and wondering if you have an un-diagnosed learning disability? Do you need an updated evaluation to confirm a previous learning disability diagnosis? Are you concerned about inattention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity? Have you been in therapy for a long time, but are struggling to see results and improvement? A psychological assessment can help you get the support you need. I specialize in psychological evaluations. These evaluations help clients understand their learning style and cognitive strengths and weaknesses; assess for ADHD or executive functioning deficits; evaluate for the presence of a learning disability; and/or gain a better understanding of mental health symptoms, functioning and diagnosis. As part of these evaluations, I generate a comprehensive report that provides a clear diagnosis, and offers recommendations for the academic environment and/or ongoing treatment.

I work with anxious, overwhelmed women, including college students, young adults, millennials, and moms, who often feel stuck in their heads, emotionally drained, or unsure of themselves despite appearing capable and successful on the outside. You may be struggling with overthinking, perfectionism, people-pleasing, stress, social anxiety, self-doubt, burnout, life transitions, or the pressure of trying to keep up with everyone's expectations while figuring out what you truly want for yourself. Using CBT, mindfulness, and holistic approaches, I help you better understand your patterns, manage anxiety, navigate big emotions, build self-confidence, and create healthier boundaries. Together, we'll work toward reducing overwhelm, quieting your inner critic, and helping you feel more grounded, balanced, and connected to what matters most. Therapy is an opportunity to slow down, gain clarity, explore your identity and goals, and develop practical tools to navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and resilience. Whether you're adjusting to college, navigating a major life transition, struggling with relationships, or simply feeling lost, stuck, or overwhelmed, you don't have to figure it out alone. If you're ready to take the next step, I'd be honored to support you.

Hi and welcome! Do you wish life would slow down so you can take a breath? Stuff has been piling up and now your relationships are strained, your social life isn't what you want, and you don’t even really know who you are. Clients come to me looking to connect with a fellow human whose been there because therapy is a place where you feel genuinely seen & valued. Together we'll collaborate to achieve what you envision for your life and create lasting change. I help my client make sense of the confusing and messy parts of life. Areas of specific focus are: anxiety, self esteem, sex, relationships, life changes, identity exploration and development, sibling relationships, and more providing neurodivergent and queer affirming care. Many of my clients have had troubles connecting with other therapists or are hesitant to start the process. I get it! Vulnerability is scary as hell and the idea of therapy can be intimidating. I hold such gratitude to offer a space that feels safe & open to allow those I work with to freely explore themselves. I deeply value the relationship between a person & their therapist and prioritize nurturing this connection to make our work together the most meaningful for you. My role is to listen, offer perspective, and provide supportive challenge & guidance to empower you in supporting yourself as you continue to move through life. I tell my clients: at the end of the day, I’m here to work myself out of a job. Therapy with me integrates talking, exercises, and – brace yourself – sometimes homework between sessions to practice what we’re working on. Together, we will cultivate healthy habits, gain tools to navigate life's changes, identify unhelpful patterns, & discover or reconnect with your truest self. I believe we all have the capacity to heal and grow. Warm, intentional support during that journey can make all the difference. Through my own experiences, I know how powerful human connection can be in achieving change. I also know the therapist you trust for help is an important choice. My goal is to foster a space where all parts of you feel truly understood & aligned. So, I take my time to listen and learn about YOU – your circumstances, inclinations, past experiences, and desires to tailor my approach in ways that best serve you and your goals. I uplift and affirm BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and Kink communities, and all forms of identity expression, lifestyles, and relationships.

Hi, I'm Colleen! I have been a Social Worker for the last 17 years working with adults, adolescents, children and families. I will bring compassion, reflection and a little humor during our time together. In sessions, I utilize several integrated modalities to really adjust to what the individual needs are. I like to use a Person-Centered Approach, meeting the individual where they are in order to collaboratively develop obtainable goals and explore healthy coping strategies. We will use Psychodynamic Therapy to explore the individuals thoughts and feelings, and how the past may be impacting their present or future.
