Therapists for college students near Boston College
Hi, I am Reina Baez, a bilingual (English /Spanish) licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and I believe that healing happens in connection—with ourselves, with others, and with the narratives we carry. I am licensed in California, Georgia, and Missouri. My work is rooted in empathy, curiosity, and the belief that change is always possible, even when we feel stuck or without hope. It is my job to hold onto hope until you can feel hope for yourself. I work with individuals and couples, specializing in ADHD, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, trauma, and the parts of life that feel messy or overwhelming. My goal is to create a space where you can heal and create new, empowering narratives for your future. Therapy is a brave step and lasting change is possible.

Providing online mental health services to Massachusetts and Vermont residents (18+) facing the challenges of college life and emerging adulthood. College presents both opportunities and challenges as you take up your life as an adult in the world. To help you meet those challenges, the Austen Riggs Center provides an online Intensive Outpatient Program. Our program delivers psychodynamic psychotherapy, medication management, and a combination of process groups, yoga, and coping skills to students whose struggles interfere with meeting the academic, social, and emotional challenges of higher education.

Welcome! We offer relational talk therapy to college students, graduate students, and couples. We especially enjoy working with high-achieving students who may look like they have it all together on the outside, but inside are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or unsure of themselves. College can bring a lot of change—new relationships, academic pressure, big decisions, shifting identities, and figuring out who you are outside of everyone else’s expectations. At Insights, therapy is a space where you don’t have to perform, achieve, or have all the answers. Our therapists are warm, genuine, and relational. We’ll help you better understand yourself, navigate relationships, build confidence, set boundaries, and create a life that feels meaningful and authentic to you. Whether you’re adjusting to college, navigating friendships or dating, struggling with perfectionism or people-pleasing, experiencing anxiety or stress, or simply wanting a space to talk things through, we’d love to connect with you.
I am an experienced Licensed Mental Health Clinician with a strong record of establishing solid relationships with my clients providing counseling, advocacy, liaison services, integrated care to a diverse population of clients. My therapeutic orientation is built around human connections, growth, internal strengths, and self-awareness. I am passionate about working with individuals helping them to overcome life adversities, heal and make change for success within their lives. I specialize in those who are grieving/experiencing loss, new transitions in life and anxiety. I often use Cognitive Behavioral in my practice. In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. With CBT, we'll look at how your thoughts affect your emotions and experience! I also use Person-Centered, Humanistic and Narrative Therapy techniques with a Trauma focused lens in my practice.
College is such an important time. You’re learning and growing in classes, and you’re also figuring out who you want to be in the world. Being away from home, navigating friendships and relationships, and making decisions about your future can be exciting, but they can also feel lonely, confusing, or overwhelming. If you’re feeling unsure of yourself or of your path, you’re not alone. I love working with college students and offer a warm, supportive space where you can talk things through, make sense of what you’re feeling, and learn to advocate for what you need. We’ll work together to help you feel more grounded, confident, and at home in your life. I look forward to hearing your story and supporting you as you build the life you want.

I am currently scheduling patients for both in-person (PA/NJ) and telehealth (PA/NJ/MA) appointments. I welcome patients who are looking for medication management, therapy, a second opinion, or any combination of the above. My interests include diagnostic clarification of mood/anxiety/attention disorders, evaluation of young adults who may be seeking help for the first time, and treatment of substance use disorders that often present with other common diagnoses. I offer comprehensive treatment, taking into consideration not only whether a patient has a medical illness, but also discussing lifestyle, substance use, relationships and other factors that could be affecting an individual's mental health. When indicated, I may recommend the use of psychiatric medications in conjunction with therapy.

It's ok to ask for help. But it's also ok to wonder if a therapist can really help you. It's true that I can't erase your past or instantly take away your pain (although I wish I could). However, I can help you carry your burdens more lightly, whether that means healing from trauma, finding closure from a relationship, or learning new ways of coping with depression and anxiety. I can offer you a new perspective on the issues that you are dealing with. You have struggled alone long enough. Therapy is your time to feel supported and understood. I have extensive experience treating a variety of issues (see list of specialties below). I use several therapeutic approaches including person-centered, strength-based, interpersonal, compassion focused, multicultural, and CBT. Therapy is not a "one size fits all" approach. We will work together to figure out the best approach for your individual needs. I know it's difficult to reach out to someone you hardly know and share struggles that are so deeply personal to you. I will offer you a safe space where you can just come as you are. Clients describe me as kind, caring, and nonjudgmental. Please contact me for a complimentary consultation to see if we might be a good fit. I look forward to hearing from you.
As my client, you can expect a safe, therapeutic, and non judgmental environment to process your emotions and better understand yourself. I will help you feel safe, secure, and heard. Together, we will learn how to reframe your negative thinking and develop a positive mindset. I primarily use cognitive behavioral therapy, as well as a client centered/strength based approach. However, I am open to adapting our therapeutic techniques to help you achieve your desired goals.
