Margot brings a warm and interactive style to her psychotherapeutic practice, which can best be described as “eclectic,” as she believes that not one type of therapy is right for everyone. Pulling from psychodynamic (insight-oriented) psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness/meditation, and somatics (the integration of body/mind/spirit), Margot will tailor her practice to people’s individual needs depending on the particular issues they would like to address in therapy. Margot is committed to serving traditionally marginalized communities including people of color, queer and transgender/gender non-conforming people, poly and kink identified people, and people with disabilities. Many people come to therapy feeling disconnected from their bodies, their relationships, or a clear sense of who they are... old wounds can show up through self-doubt, overthinking, numbness, or a feeling of not quite belonging. My clients are often introspective, sensitive, or creative souls that come to me during times of transition, burnout, relationship challenges, recovery from addiction, or when seeking a deeper connection to themselves and their purpose. Our therapy process will invite you to slow down, listen inwardly, and repair the hurt that restricts your vitality and authentic self-expression. I specialize in integrative therapy that blends relational talk therapy with body awareness, breath, inner child work, and earth-based practices. I draw from IFS, somatic therapies, psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches, while also incorporating ACT and CBT to support aligned action. My approach is non-pathologizing and collaborative. Our work will effectively move you towards: greater clarity and confidence in your choices; Emotional resilience and self-compassion; A more authentic connection to yourself and others; A sense of wholeness, direction, and purpose. If it feels like we could be a fit, I would love to hear from you. Reach out to schedule an initial session.
Offering telehealth sessions! I believe we are all naturally inclined toward personal growth and success—each of us with our own strengths, desires, and goals that would lead us in the direction of contentment and happiness under optimal conditions. Problems arise because we don’t live in a perfect world, and in an effort to adapt, we sometimes develop strategies that make sense in the short term, but are not effective in moving us forward. We “get stuck,” leading to anxiety, frustration, and conflict, which leads in turn to us feeling bad about ourselves and our relationships. I view therapy as a collaboration between me and my clients, where we work together to understand the root causes of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that get in the way of resolving problems. Together, we will clarify your goals, uncover and capitalize on existing strengths, and develop new ways of working through difficulties. My style, which is both directive and supportive, honest and compassionate, works to build the trusting relationship that will be key to our work together. My approach is integrative, eclectic, and flexible: we'll start wherever you are and go from there. The first step is the hardest, but you're not alone in the journey. Give me a call and we'll get you on your way!

You’re ready to heal from the past and from the years worth of stress you’ve carried on your shoulders. You want to fully step into the “new you”, to be present, and enjoy your life and the people in it. Instead, you spend your days overwhelmed, stressed, and unsure of what your next steps should be. Your mind races at night, with all the things that could go wrong. Therapy can help you take steps forward. It can help you learn about yourself, heal trauma, get unstuck, and break cycles. If you’re ready, I am committed to partnering with you, with empathy, compassion, and humility, to learn more about yourself, gain tools to heal, and (re)discover the “you” that has been hiding and is ready to thrive.
Hi! I'm Virginia Mahoney, founder and lead clinician at Lockwood Wellness. I believe in fostering a space where kindness towards oneself intertwines with the courage to face life's challenges. At the heart of my approach lies the belief that you are the expert of your own story. Together, we embark on a transformative journey to unravel feelings, recognize patterns, and reframe thoughts, empowering you to lead the life you envision. Before moving to private practice I have worked with children, teens and young adults in a variety of settings from schools and hospitals to college campuses.

I have expertise with new and veteran moms around the complexities of motherhood and the ongoing need for support. Hello and welcome! Having worked in academic settings as a teacher and college counselor since 2004, I understand the multiple stressors that can impact students' lives. In my practice, I primarily lead with an interpersonal, relational framework to assist you in establishing a safe and supportive space from which treatment can begin. My co-therapist is my dog, Dahlia, who will serve as a comforting companion in your introspective journey. I also incorporate elements of Internal Family Systems, Animal Assisted Therapy (Canine), Nature Walk Therapy, Psychodynamic, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Mindfulness models when clinically appropriate. Most of my sessions are done online with the option for in-person Nature Therapy sessions, when requested. The emphasis of our collaboration will be on developing new paradigms for self-compassion, cultivating self-care practices, and expanding your self-awareness. Let me know how I might help.
As a therapist, I strive to bring warmth and wits into sessions with my patients. My role is to help people identify patterns that are causing trouble or distress. This process involves not only trying to understand the "root" of the problem, but also looking for ways in which individuals might get stuck in problematic ways of relating to others or thinking about themselves. This can be hard work, but it has the potential to be very rewarding. In my experience, people who engage in therapy often find that old patterns can change, and new choices are able to emerge in their lives. In my previous role as associate director of Boston University's Behavioral Medicine clinic, I worked with a diverse group of undergrad and graduate students. In my current practice, I work with adolescents and young adults who are struggling academically, or who are taking a leave of absence from college or grad school due to mental health concerns. I also have interests in depression, anxiety, parenting, postpartum depression/anxiety, and spiritual issues. But really, I like working with anyone striving for an examined life. I am not in-network with any insurance plans, but you may be able to use out of network benefits to help pay for the cost of therapy.

Perhaps you’ve been feeling overwhelmed recently. Or you’re struggling with constant worry and stress. Being a young woman and trying to find your way into adulthood is not an easy path. Anxiety is a common feeling during this time, and a natural human emotion, but too much of it can prevent us from leading the life we want. We all go through difficult times, and sometimes we need a little extra support to see our way through. I view my role as a therapist as a supportive and encouraging guide. Together we’ll explore unhelpful thoughts and patterns getting in the way of you becoming the woman you want to be.
I am a licensed therapist with 14 years of experience helping individuals navigate anxiety, OCD, ADHD, and trauma. Many of the people I work with find themselves stuck in cycles of procrastination and harsh self-criticism, which can make it difficult to feel present or engaged in their daily lives. My approach combines traditional talk therapy with somatic, mind-body techniques that support nervous system regulation and help calm stress stored in the body. Together, we work to create more space for clarity, self-compassion, and meaningful change.
