I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Massachusetts, New York, and Florida specializing in working with individuals with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety, and related issues. I work with clients of all ages either in-person at the New England Center for OCD and Anxiety (NECOA)’s Cambridge and Melrose offices or via Zoom. The services I offer include weekly outpatient therapy, as well as an intensive outpatient therapy option. I also offer diagnostic assessment services, including autism, intelligence, and achievement testing.
I work with teens and young adults who want to live a life less impacted by their anxiety, OCD, and other stressors. College can be full of unexpected peaks and valleys, and I help people navigate those ups and downs. Whether it’s stress related to academics, friendships, family, or something else, we can work through it together to help you build a more full and authentic life.
Welcome, I’m glad you’re here! I work with college students and young adults who may feel stuck in patterns of anxiety, overthinking, or OCD. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful and motivated, yet internally they’re navigating constant “what if” thoughts, self-doubt, or a sense of pressure to get things just right. You might find yourself avoiding certain situations, procrastinating because things feel overwhelming, or getting caught in mental loops that are hard to step away from. Anxiety or OCD may be starting to impact your schoolwork, relationships, or your ability to enjoy everyday life. Even when things look “fine” on the outside, it can feel exhausting underneath. If you’re hoping to develop a different relationship with your thoughts and feelings (even if that feels a little uncomfortable at first) and are looking for meaningful, lasting change, we might be a good fit. In our work together, we’ll move at a pace that feels manageable, building practical tools and gently working through the patterns that are keeping you stuck, so you can feel more confident, flexible, and more like yourself.
I tend to work best with clients who are open to growth and willing to look a little deeper at how they’re living their lives. You might be asking yourself questions like: “Am I living the life I actually want?” or “Why do I feel so stuck, even when I know something needs to change?” Together, we explore the gap between how your life looks right now and how you want it to feel. We’ll look at the thoughts, emotions, or patterns that might be getting in the way -whether that’s anxiety, self-doubt, or feeling pulled in different directions. While many of my clients are teens and young adults who are starting to build insight into themselves, what matters most isn’t your age, it’s your willingness to be open, curious, and honest in the process. If you’re ready to show up authentically and work toward a life that feels more aligned with who you are, we’ll likely be a good fit.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker that works with young adults and college students that may be navigating challenges with depression, anxiety, OCD, and related disorders. My work aims to help individuals live in alignment with their values and utilize skills to overcome their fears! I specialize in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to help clients target and manage symptoms that impact their functioning and daily life. Additionally, I specialize in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to integrate skills into our work. I value bringing compassion, authenticity, and fun to the therapy space. I firmly believe that progress is not linear, and enjoy helping navigate their goals and build resilience.
I have spent the past five years in clinical practice supporting individuals who feel stuck or are navigating major life transitions, including college students facing academic, relational, and personal challenges. My approach is mindful and person-centered, with an emphasis on meeting you where you are. I strive to create a space where you can express yourself freely and feel understood.

College is supposed to be the best years of your life, which makes it harder to say out loud when it doesn't feel that way. Whether it's anxiety that won't quit, a low-grade numbness you can't explain, pressure to perform that's become suffocating, or the unsettling sense that you're on a path someone else chose for you, these aren't things you should just push through. They're worth understanding. I'm a Harvard-trained psychiatrist who does both medication management and in-depth psychotherapy. With me, you're not bouncing between a prescriber you see for fifteen minutes and a therapist who doesn't know what you're taking. I work with the whole picture. That means we talk. Really talk. About what's going on, what's underneath it, and what you actually want (not just what looks good on a transcript). My style is warm but direct. I'm not going to sit silently and wait for you to fill the space, and I'm not going to hand you a worksheet and call it therapy. I pay attention to what you need: sometimes that's a push, sometimes it's room to breathe, sometimes it's someone who will tell you the thing no one else has said yet. I also get the world you live in — gaming, internet culture, the specific weirdness of building an identity when everyone's performing theirs online. You don't have to explain that part. I'm also an Asian American psychiatrist with a background in law. I founded The Jeong Center around a Korean concept — jeong (정) — the deep bond that forms when two people share real time and presence together. I have particular experience working with AAPI students, third-culture identity, and the weight of intergenerational expectations. Offices in Brookline and Downtown Boston. Telehealth available. INSURANCE & FEES I'm an out-of-network physician, but most Boston-area student health insurance plans provide out-of-network benefits that can be used to cover some or even most of my fees. Reach out if you'd like help checking your benefits.
I help bright, dynamic students deal with the anxiety and overwhelm that can creep up as you're out there doing what you always thought you were supposed to be doing. You work really hard but it's getting harder to hold it all together as you wrestle with the doubts and the stress. Your relationships might be feeling less than happy and fulfilling lately, or you're just plain overwhelmed. On the outside, you look like you have it all together - but that doesn't make you feel OK on the inside. I help people like you learn how to finally feel good about themselves, balance school work and self care, build strong relationships, manage anxiety and stress, and feel less alone and overwhelmed. You're not out of options - in fact, therapy could be the start of a great new chapter in your life.
I help college students, graduate students, and university faculty manage stress, cope with painful emotions, and navigate school, work, and relationships. Higher education offers a huge opportunity for growth and self-discovery, but it also presents unique stressors and challenges. In addition to treating anxiety and depression, I work regularly with issues of perfectionism, peer comparison, academic pressure, and burnout. I also help clients build healthy friendships and partnerships, explore identity issues, adjust to new situations and life phases, and examine possible career directions. I believe that great therapy is tailored to meet clients’ needs and goals, so I integrate a variety of approaches into my work, including insight-oriented methods, mindfulness practices, and cognitive behavioral techniques. Depending on what a client brings to each session, we might work on specific tools to address a current problem, examine the origins of a long-standing pattern, or explore some of life’s biggest questions together. I believe in the inherent resiliency of my clients, and I empower them to tap into their inner strengths and resources. At the foundation of my practice is always the relationship with my clients, which is built on mutual trust and active collaboration. My professional training includes degrees in Psychology (BA, Harvard University), Social Work (MSW, University of Chicago), and Higher Education (EdD, Northeastern University), along with experience in university counseling, academic and career advising, community mental health, and international education. Clients describe me as authentic, attentive, compassionate, and dedicated. While I am not in-network for any insurance providers, many university students have out-of-network benefits that they can use to seek insurance reimbursement for our sessions. I am happy to assist clients in this process. Please visit my website for more information. I am based in Cambridge MA and licensed across MA, NY, DC, and CT.
I’ve been part of the Harvard Medical School system for over a decade, first as a trainee, now as faculty member. I'm trained primarily in psychodynamic therapy, but principles/interventions from other paradigms also inform my work, and I love working with students. Ultimately, the nature of therapy depends on the patient, what they are up against, and their goals. For this reason, the course of therapy is difficult to describe, but I think it only ever works in a context of empathy, respect, and compassion, not to mention humor (sometimes life can only be laughed at). This is a perspective I lay out in some detail in a recently published, two-volume book, titled, "A Humane Vision of Clinical Psychology." Generally speaking, I would be a good fit for someone looking to understand and change established patterns, and to find relief from associated symptoms. Currently, I am contracted with the student insurances at Tufts and BC, which make sessions very inexpensive for students.
Edit: Now offering in-person sessions in Cambridge as well as tele-health I am located between Central Square and Harvard Square, a 3 minute walk from the Central square red line stop, in an elevator building. I work with many undergrad and graduate students on issues such as anxiety, depression, stress management, sleep disorders, relationships, and more. I am happy to arrange a phone call to help understand your goals for therapy and to see if we are a good fit. I look forward to hearing from you.
"I'm a LICSW with 38 years of experience working in a variety of clinical settings. Most recently, I was a member of the senior clinical staff at the Counseling and Mental Health Service of Harvard University where I worked for 14 years. I have treated students from a variety of cultures and backgrounds. I've received training in Motivational Interviewing, DBT and am an instructor in Koru Mindfulness. I also offer tele-therapy sessions for those interested. Clients come to me for consultation and support around a wide variety of life issues and struggles, including loss and trauma, significant life transitions, and help with managing depression and anxiety. Still, others come with a desire to improve their self-awareness, their perspective regarding their life path, or to strengthen their life skills. My work is informed by an eclectic mix of treatment models; psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, DBT and Motivational Interviewing. I also teach Mindfulness Practices as an effective tool to strengthen perspective and build resiliency

In my experience as a psychotherapist and psychoanalyst, I've heard many times: "I want to be happy, to feel peaceful inside myself, but I can't seem to get there" or "I feel badly telling my friends and family. I don't want to worry them, and I fear they will get tired of listening to me." There are many reasons people feel stuck in their anxiety, depression, eating disorders, body concerns, phase of life issues or relationship problems, and feel immobilized by them. A supportive therapy relationship can help you feel more at peace, happier, and more self-confident. Psychotherapy is a unique, supportive space where you can address your worries, conflicts and hopes without judgment, understand what's holding you back, and move forward towards lasting results and a happier, more fully lived life. I work with people who are described above My office is between Harvard Square and Central Square, on the Red Line. I look forward to speaking with you soon.

I am a Board-Certified, Harvard-trained psychiatrist in private practice in Cambridge, MA. Most of my work is currently with undergraduate students, graduate students, and professionals. My initial consultation typically involves multiple appointments as I gather information about you and your concerns. Then, I discuss pros and cons of potential next steps, and we work together to form a plan. I see most patients for psychotherapy (talk therapy), and some for a combination of psychotherapy and medication management. My practice involves helping people navigate life transitions. Generally, I find that psychotherapy is the most helpful mode of treatment. I typically see patients weekly, and, not infrequently, for multiple visits each week as we begin our work together. I will recommend medication if I think it can be a helpful part of our plan. At this time, I am not able to offer ongoing medication management to new patients who are working with other local psychotherapists and who might wish to seek out my services solely for medication management reasons. I am an in-network provider with BCBS of Massachusetts HMO and PPO plans. I encourage you to contact your insurer directly if you have questions about your specific insurance plan benefits.
My clinical orientation primarily emphasizes psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy approaches and is rooted in relational and person-centric models. I have advanced training in psychodynamic approaches as a Fellow at the Boston Psychoanalysis Society and Institute. My style is eclectic and I derive techniques from a comprehensive range of approaches, including solution-focused, narrative, multicultural and expressive models of psychotherapy. I recognize that there are cultural limitations inherent to each of these approaches and endeavor to tailor the therapeutic experience to respect clients’ diverse backgrounds. I offer individual psychotherapy to adults of all ages dealing with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, PTSD, grief, major life transitions, relationship concerns, identity-related issues and addiction. I also have specialized experience working with college students, including international students, dealing with adjustment and academic concerns. Having trained in both the United States and India, I am attentive to the intricacies of navigating cross-cultural identities. By integrating insights from both Eastern and Western psychotherapy approaches, my goal is to provide a compassionate and strengths-based environment to foster holistic well-being and empowerment for clients’ lived experience.
