Therapists for college students near 27705
I started my career in psychology and counseling when I experienced a suicide in my family. It gave me the courage to make changes for myself, and help people around me who were also suffering grief, loss, and depression. I'm an advocate of mental health issues, a proud adoptee, and a supporter of the arts. I have been working with individuals and families for over 10 years. My approach is open-minded, cognitive, and holistic. I am straightforward and honest while allowing clients to decide where they want to go. I'm a therapist with Octave and Evernorth Behavioral Care Group. Octave is a mental health practice providing high-quality care covered by multiple insurances. Evernorth Behavioral Care Group is a behavioral health provider group in-network with Cigna Healthcare and Evernorth. For my availability, please reach out to Octave’s team by emailing or calling.
Counselors employ a myriad of skills and interventions to support the health and well-being of the individuals we serve. We base our understanding of human behavior and cognition on foundational theories. I rely heavily on an integrated counseling approach encompassing several theories used to frame strategies to assist individuals in achieving the best versions of themselves. I utilize a client-centered method of directive communication, and motivational interviewing, in addition to Solution-focused, Cognitive Behavioral, and systems theories. These are all well-established, researched, and respected therapies. I'm a therapist with Octave and Evernorth Behavioral Care Group. At NxtStep, our goal is to provide a space for you to share your raw emotions and feel safe, heard, and understood. There’s no better feeling than sitting with someone who shares similar lived experiences and has the skills necessary to help you move forward in life. What's better than having a therapist who "just get's it"? In a world where we can feel like the odd man out, we pride ourselves on providing a judgment-free environment where you feel welcomed and fully accepted. Together, we will find the solutions you need to take you where you want to go. Let us walk with you as you make the next step toward the life you desire. You won’t regret it.

My name is Daria Datnoff, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and have worked in the therapeutic field since 2011. I have worked with a wide variety of populations, including, young children, adolescents, at-risk teens, adults, and families across multiple settings. I believe that the human psyche is rooted in nature and that a reconnection with the natural world can be a catalyst for deep healing. I take an individualized, client-centered approach and am experienced in an eclectic range of high-quality healing modalities, including: solution-focused therapy, mindfulness-oriented approaches, relational & narrative therapies. I base my practice on the belief that symptoms of disorders are rooted in impaired relationships with yourself, with significant others, as well as the natural world. As a result, true healing will only occur within the context of relationship, and nature. I pride myself on having a positive, empowerment-based, and life-affirming approach to healing. I embody a therapeutic process that is collaborative, nurturing, intuitively guided, and rooted in ecological systems theory. I strive to combine compassion for individuals and the environment with inherent wisdom to deliver a high-quality healing experience that is unique for every person or family that I serve.

Licensed in CA, NC, FL and PA—offering seamless virtual care for students on campus and those traveling home for breaks. I am a Licensed Psychologist. I attended U of Miami, FL for my B.S, M.S., and Ph.D. As part of my graduate program, I completed courses and did research at Duke, U of Penn, Jefferson University, and Rutgers. I completed a specialized post-graduate Harvard program to understand and overcome internal barriers to achieve personal growth. Later in life, I became a UCLA Alum by obtaining my Certificate in Human Resource Management and was selected as the valedictorian for my speciality. This added a capability to enhance my work as a Strategic Human Resource Executive for two large Aerospace companies based in Torrance, CA. I live in beautiful Napa, CA. My practice is virtual using a secured platform. I see adults 18+ yo for individual therapy. For the past 30 plus years, I helped people just like you find ways to get on track with their lives. My goal for you is to understand yourself and be able to take steps to feel the way you want to feel. During our initial sessions, I ask that you share what you feel I need to know about your situation and circumstance, your feelings, about who you are and what you hope to gain through therapy. I take time to get to know you. We will explore your thoughts, feelings, reactions that arise in therapy as these are just as important as what happens outside of therapy. You will design your own unique tools and techniques to use throughout your life in various situations that give you relief and help during difficult times. Compassionate and patient, encouraging you to overcome hurdles you can control and let go of ones you can’t. We will move you towards your best self by holding you accountable for your own growth. We work collaboratively; starting with what’s happening now, breaking things down into manageable areas to work on. We explore ways to increase your awareness and your actions from how you view things to your actual behaviors. I keep up with the latest science on evidenced based approaches, and leverage our current understanding of our whole body. You'll gain resilience to handle life’s challenges. I believe that we are creative, resourceful & whole... and sometimes, we just need a helping hand. We have genetics and learned behaviors that make us who we are. Think about it, if we can learn what we have learned to bring us to where we are today, without even trying, imagine what we can do if we put just a little bit of effort and energy into learning something different that would work better for us today. If we take care of our whole body, eat right, stay active, stimulate our brains, give to and receive from others then we do better dealing with stress and challenges. I do practice the things I talk about. It’s important that I take care of myself. And we’re not prefect so sometimes we stop our best practices and then we realize we need to pick them up again because we notice the negative impact. That’s me too. I love that we have similarities and differences as humans, that’s what makes us so wondrous! If you want to learn more about how I can help, send me a message. Please be sure to share your personal email and your personal cell phone so I can reach you.

Are you doing your best, yet life keeps demanding more? Maybe you’re facing change, feeling disconnected in your relationships, or struggling with anxiety or depression that makes everything harder. Are you tired of overthinking, holding it all together, and still feeling stuck? Do you want to feel steady again, to trust yourself, find balance, and breathe a little easier? You don’t have to do this alone. Therapy with me isn’t stiff or clinical; it’s a space to be real, reflect, and respond to life with confidence and self-compassion. I believe therapy should feel human and supportive. Growth happens when you feel safe enough to be yourself, not judged or pressured. My role is to create a space where you can slow down, breathe and explore what’s happening beneath the surface. Therapy is collaborative: you bring your story, strengths and insight; I bring tools, perspective, and compassion. Healing isn’t about “fixing” yourself; it’s about understanding yourself with kindness and curiosity. From that place, real change becomes possible. Together, we’ll work toward greater balance, peace, and connection with yourself and with the people who matter most. If you’re ready to reach out, I’d be honored to support you through whatever you’re facing.

Well, if you are here, welcome! I am Stacey. I know it’s a journey to find the right therapist, and I’m glad you found your way to TheraHope. Most of my clients tell me, "You really get me" because I understand that being a student right now is heavy. We will work together to navigate the symptoms that weigh you down - like a racing mind or total shut down but also the daily drama with friends, parents and partners that drains your battery. If you are carrying past trauma, we will work together to navigate that negative self-talk and truly understand the "why" behind how you are feeling. We will create a game plan at your pace. My goal is to help you stop just "surviving" the semester and actually start feeling like yourself again. I really do care about my clients and I hope you decide to join this therapy road with me! Life in your teen and early adult years is overwhelming. Figuring out who you are, fielding all the expectations, managing unknowns about the future, and putting yourself out there socially are all demanding your time and energy. It's a lot. Maybe you’re about to give up, feeling ready to stop being disappointed in yourself, or feeling that this is just how life is, and you need to cope however you can. You've done all the things you thought you were supposed to, and it doesn’t seem like it’s enough. You don’t have to keep pushing through. A meaningful, joyful life is possible for you, too. I work with teens, young adults, and their families to address the “never enough,” “what’s wrong with me,” or “why did this happen to me?” In our work, we will slow down and process the beliefs and patterns that no longer serve you while learning behaviors that support the person you are becoming. My approach is warm and compassionate, yet direct. Teen years and young adulthood are hard enough; you don't have to figure it out on your own. Together, we will work through the self-doubt, feelings of hopelessness, and the sense of isolation so that you can be your unique self—truly seen and valued. Strong and confident.
