I work with young adults (18-30) on anxiety, social anxiety, and self esteem. Does this describe you? You are the lonely one; you feel unseen. You feel deeply, and your emotions are intense. You are jealous of others who find it easy to connect, and you want what they have. When you seek connection, people disappoint you with their lack of authenticity. You love, but don’t know how to be loved. You once thought a romantic relationship or best friend would be the solution; you would feel whole. But you did not feel complete, and happiness started to feel out of reach. Understanding in your relationships feels foreign. Despite your frustration, you are committed to finding understanding, being valued, and connecting with others. You want to shine and thrive. I know your inner world's importance. I am familiar with the challenge of discovering how to fit in the social world. Can you imagine yourself confidently connecting with others? Can you imagine being valued and heard? Together, we will find your confidence. We will explore fears, hang-ups, and insecurities together. Take the first step towards the confidence and connection you want! Contact me for your first free 15-minute phone consultation.

I believe that all people are capable of change and have the internal capacity to shift unhealthy patterns in their lives. Sometimes, we need a little help because we get "stuck" in old patterns that have been well honed through past hurts or traumatic events and cannot seem to find a new path forward. This is not through a lack of desire of wanting it to be different, but due to the impact that these difficult and painful life events have had on the part of our brain that controls how we react to these stressors. When we experience deep pain-- through relationships, situations, or trauma--these experiences are stored deeply in the subcortical area of the brain. This pain remains there, unprocessed, and can cause disruptions in day to day life. This can look like over-reactions to noise/stress due to growing up in a chaotic environment, difficulty asserting yourself with heart palpitations and chest tightness due to that "bad boss" that berated you, stomach pain every time you drive by your ex's neighborhood despite the fact that you have not dated in years, or overwhelming grief each year when the anniversary of a significant loss occurs. While traditional talk therapy can be helpful, it is not able to access the deeper, subcortical areas of the brain. I utilize Brainspotting as a therapeutic technique, to support the brain's self scanning and self-healing capacity. Brainspotting enables you to access these stored experiences and integrate them in a more functional way. By utilizing an eye position relevant to the issue you are wanting to address, and a "felt sense" of this issue in the body, deep brain processing is able to occur. This bypasses the conscious, "thinking" part of the brain, and leads to lasting change. I also utilize a blend of other approaches including cognitive behavior therapy, mindfulness, directive and non-directive play therapy and draw from attachment based and neuroscience supported interventions in my work. Lisa Peaty received her Masters in Social work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has over 20 years of clinical social work experience, working with children, adults, and families and has spent the past 15 years practicing as a therapist in the Winston-Salem community. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, baking, exercising and reading.

I help high achieving and sensitive women to stop doubting themselves and start feeling grounded and confident. Often, I work with people who are tired of keeping it all together and holding things in. People like you who are done putting themselves last and ready to step into themselves and own their worth. Perfectionists who are ready to let go of having to be perfect all the time. Maybe you’re always the one people can count on, yet you have a hard time accepting help from others. Or you feel as though something is weighing you down, though you can’t quite pinpoint what it is. You look like you have it all together from the outside but you aren’t satisfied with your relationships and know there is more to life. You long to feel seen, heard and understood. Together, we will create space for you to get in touch with yourself and your needs. In working with me, people find themselves having the confidence to make decisions that align with their values and lead to desired change. In sessions, I strive to create a space for people to feel seen, heard and understood on a deep level, with the opportunity and safety to explore their inner worlds. I create offerings that encourage growth, self-discovery and healing through the practices of talk-therapy, EMDR, self-compassion, mindfulness, the Enneagram and yoga.

Sometimes we can feel as if on a mountaintop with a sense of clarity and other times in a valley unable to see the next step. Life is a journey with experiences and seasons where we can all use some help along the way. Whether it be marriage, dating, work, friendships, or family dynamics, relationships can be complex. Through life's complexities we can learn and grow. I believe everyone deserves to experience joy and live an abundant life. By living authentically to ourselves and others we can become the best version of ourselves. My desire is to meet you where you are and collaboratively work with you to reach your full potential. My experience includes addiction counseling, grief work, mens issues, couples counseling, trauma counseling, veteran-specific counseling, and working with adolescents on behavioral issues in their family system. I can also provide music therapy as a board-certified music therapist. Creating change is an active choice and one that is empowering and takes courage to implement. At times we all need help, especially when life gets complex and problems occur. I can relate to life's complexity and extend empathy in your process. I offer virtual therapy to clients located anywhere in North Carolina and Pennsylvania. My approach is exploratory, rather than pre-planned or highly structured. My style is informal and at ease; I offer a space where you can relax enough to become more of who you actually are, rather than feeling like we are analyzing or troubleshooting you. Our focus isn’t determined by what we worked on last time or by a treatment manual – it emerges from what you're wanting, wondering, or feeling each time you arrive. I work best with people willing to continue the work between sessions, by practicing present-focused awareness and trying out gentler, more curious responses to their body sensations, thoughts, and feelings. I offer a collaborative space for you to learn to listen to your pain in a way that fosters healing and insight. Because growth takes courage and vulnerability, our work will also empower you to discover your own strength and set your own pace. Our relationship will be rooted in trust, imagination, and fierce respect for the journey you’re on. My approach is a fusion of many therapeutic styles, including Gestalt therapy, humanistic therapy, feminist therapy, and Buddhist psychology. Please visit dorothycashore.com for more details about me and the way I work, then feel free to reach out to schedule a phone consult. I'd be glad to talk with you about whether we'd be a good fit.

Panacea Mental Wellness Practice Values P – Person Centered A – Affirming N – Nurturing A – Authentic C – Collaborating E – Empowering A – Accountability Panacea Mental Wellness, PLLC provides an affirming place for folx to create their authentic lives. Together, we focus on clients’ strengths so they can overcome low self-confidence and experience the life they deserve. Whether this is your first time ever in therapy or the millionth therapist you have reached out to, you are taking the time to find the best fit. I’m Dana, and I help folx just like you: ones that have it within them to be true to who they are and just want some support to get there. The clients I work with have dealt with some tough $hit. I help my clients find confidence and self-compassion by equipping them with the tools they need to unmask and live authentically. My clients describe me as making them feel “normal” and that they wish we had met as friends. Together, we will focus on what is important to you. In a world that often feels like it was not made for you, this is a place when you can show up authentically. I know that everyone wants something different in therapy, so I stay flexible and adjust to your needs. At the end of each session, I ask for your feedback so I can make the next session better. I am dedicated to helping people find their true selves again. As someone who is in therapy themself, I recognize the importance of the therapeutic alliance. My background and training as a Certified Peer Support Specialist means I am a human first and foremost. I became a therapist because I wanted to contribute to changing the system by decolonizing it from the inside. I use the privilege that comes with the education I received and research I have done to help you with assessments, accommodation requests, and letters of support in addition to ongoing therapy for individuals, couple/ relationships, families, and groups. You want to know you’re working with someone who “gets” it, right? I get it because in different ways, I’ve lived it myself. I know how tough it can be to feel down and want to get that confidence back. So when we work together, you won’t just get a trained therapist. You’ll get someone who truly understands what you’re going through.

Sims Counseling & Consulting is a sanctuary for holistic and integrative mental health. At Sims, we go beyond conventional psychotherapy, weaving mindfulness, art, meditation, yoga, movement, and somatic experiencing into the fabric of our services. Here, we believe in nurturing the complete being – mind, body, and soul. Every now and then life has a way of hitting us hard. We believe that when individuals enter counseling they are feeling gridlocked in their current situation and need assistance navigating their way out of the storms. We see counseling as a process by which I guide my client in exploration and identification of their needs. Through cognitive and somatic techniques we help raise clients' awareness of ineffective behaviors, toxic cycles, and distorted thinking patterns that may be standing in the way of the changes they desire in life. We believe that transformation begins when we slow down, tune into our bodies, and honor what comes up. We have experience supporting emerging adults and college students, let's get started!

Waking up each day to feel the weight of society’s expectations on your shoulders is overwhelming. There are times where you begin to wonder where you belong and if there is a place you can really be yourself. You were never given the opportunity to discover your true self and now you’re wondering who you really are! So many aspects of how you were raised and the things you experienced are holding onto you and keeping you from embracing new paths in your life. At times, it can be lonely navigating life while finding yourself, unlearning toxic beliefs, and learning to love the person you’re meant to be. But life is a journey! You deserve to wake up excited for the day and all of its possibilities. You are worthy of taking the time to stop and find yourself and discover who you want to be. It’s okay to acknowledge where you came from and the events that shaped you while also striving for a different path. It’s okay to question the ideals you grew up with and it’s okay to challenge the ones you feel don’t fit with who you want to be now! This is your life and you deserve to be in control of it. If any of that describes how you’re currently feeling, I would love to join you on your journey to self discovery. Finding yourself and your place in life can be challenging work but you do not have to do it alone. If you feel you’re ready to begin the journey, I am here to walk with you!
