Gay Men's Therapy. Marcelo Abramovich
Coming Out - Gay Issues - Sex Issues - Sexuality - Sexual addiction/compulsion - Gender - Anxiety - Depression - Past Trauma - Fears Phobias - Self-Esteem - Relationship and Family - Male survivors of sexual abuse - Open relationships - Intimacy - Loneliness - HIV - OCD - Grief/Loss therapy - Cognitive behavioral therapy. When facing life's difficult challenges, it is good to know that there are places that you can turn to for help and guidance. However, finding a gay therapist can be anxiety producing because when people decide they would benefit from seeing a therapist, they are often experiencing significant upset in their lives. This is usually not the ideal moment to be dealing with the stress involved in finding someone with whom it feels safe and right to be vulnerable. I am aware of this and I want you to know that when we meet you will find yourself in a comfortable setting where you will be able to tell your story in strict confidence and without the worries of judgment or pressure of any type. We will discuss what you are interested in working on and how I will be able to help you. There will be no pressure to make any decisions or commitments. . I believe that therapy is a tool for fixing interpersonal problems, helping with painful life situations, tackling the "tough stuff", helping fine tune relationships, and getting back on the road to success in life. Sometimes things don't quite work out as planned and a time of transition can become a major life challenge. My role is to help identify the most difficult parts of this change and to support you so you can move into these new phases with greater support and confidence.” I have over twenty years of multifaceted clinical experience working successfully with clients of different age, gender, religion, culture and personality. My therapeutic experience with clients includes a broad range of issues including depression, mood disorders, past trauma, anxiety, stress grief, loss, intimacy, communication skills, self-esteem and body image, personal growth and life transitions. My treatment goal My focus is to help individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. Reducing pain, shame and increase self-steam is an important component of treatment. I achieve these long lasting changes by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns and customizing a treatment plan.

Sophie Browner
I am a private practice therapist who works with adults of all ages, with particular experience supporting LGBTQIA+ clients and those who have experienced trauma. I believe that symptoms—whether anxiety, depression, or something harder to name—often have roots in our histories and relationships. In our work together, we’ll slow down and get curious about the patterns, feelings, and ways you’ve learned to cope that may no longer be serving you. Many of the students I work with are navigating academic pressure, identity questions, relationship stress, or major life transitions while trying to keep up with the demands of school and daily life. My hope is to offer a warm, attuned space where greater self-understanding can lead to real and lasting change.

Rachael Benjamin- Tribeca Therapy
TriBeCa Therapy is a center for psychotherapy that was founded on the assumption that human beings are original, imaginative, inspired, and inventive. We particularly love our work with young adults and college students and are connected to issues they deal with. Issues related to sex and dating, drugs and drinking, depression and anxiety and academic pressures aren’t topics that will freak us out. We can handle it. College students frequently discuss with us challenges such as: making friends in ways that don’t involve alcohol, making friends as a person of color, navigating social situations that demand connecting with strangers (like in the cafeteria) and finding “their people.” We work to create a partnership that takes these challenges on together, trying new strategies, taking increasingly bigger risks and dealing with the disappointments and celebrating the successes that follow. College is a time when many young adults are dealing with very adults issues like sex, sexual assault, eating disorders, substance abuse, managing money, race, class, and career choices. Creating a space where young adults feel comfortable talking about these issues is a strength of our therapists and a non-judgmental stance is key. The object isn’t to insist on a particular set of values or practices, but to support young people to understand what they are dealing with and to make active choices about who they want to be. Anna Calabrese
Anna Lucille Calabrese is a Licensed Master Social Worker with a keen interest in the human drive to create meaning from the raw material of our lives. Dually trained in clinical social work and theology, Anna’s practice is grounded in mind, body, spirit integration. She draws her approach from many sources including Depth Psychology, Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Internal Family Systems. Anna provides individual, couples and group therapy. At their core, Anna views all these modalities as relational experiences— providing form and structure that allow clients to deepen the sacred relationship to self and others. Some of her areas of focus include complex trauma, somatic experiencing, emotional regulation, addiction in its many forms, divorce and life transitions, coparenting, the LGBTQIA community, eating disorders and chronic illness. Through all of these areas, and following her client’s lead, Anna brings a creative lens to therapeutic work—often intertwining art, writing, movement, nature, film and music into the healing process. She is also interested in helping clients create ceremony and ritual around the liminal spaces in their lives— be it professional transition, the start and end of relationships, birth and death, or recovery from addiction. Anna holds a BA in Creative Writing from the New School, a Masters of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary and a Masters of Social Work from Columbia University. She has worked as a Chaplin in a hospital, a counselor on Rikers Island and with Buddhist monks on end of life care. Through all these experiences, Anna draws on a simple truth: people desire to make meaning of their lives—no matter the circumstance.

We provide a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where you can talk openly, gain insight, and develop tools to navigate challenges with greater confidence and resilience.

Seeking care is a vulnerable experience, particularly during a season of life defined by constant transition. Whether you are navigating the acute pressures of a demanding program, processing a life-changing event, or grappling with an elusive sense of discontent while everyone else seems to have "figured it out," you don’t have to carry that weight in isolation. Much of our suffering derives from inner conflicts between different parts of ourselves: the part that feels driven to achieve versus the part that is profoundly exhausted; the part that seeks independence versus the part that still feels small and uncertain. Often, these tender parts stay hidden beneath the surface of academic rigor and social performance. In the high-pressure environment of college and graduate school, it is easy to feel siloed—locked within your own mind and the deepest, most quiet anxieties of your life. My approach offers you the freedom and flexibility to examine these various facets of yourself. Together, we will work toward a greater self-understanding that allows you to move through your studies and your life with a renewed sense of fulfillment and agency.
