My clients are exhausted and overwhelmed like you. They are tired of doing their best to keep all these balls (school, work, parenting, relationships, self-care, health and wellbeing, sleep + more) up in the air (even though admittedly they are pretty darn good at it). But when they inevitably drop a few because something else pops up or they get tired, life feels messy and they are quick to place judgements on themselves. I practice relational, justice-oriented teletherapy rooted firmly in the belief that each person is the expert of their own life. I am trained as a generalist, but I am especially interested in and experienced with substance use, identity development and exploration, queer and trans health, relationship and family of origin concerns, trauma, perfectionism, and climate-related distress. I’m a holistic practitioner using CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), IPSRT (Interpersonal Social Rhythms Therapy), ESR (Early Symptom Recognition) among others. I specialize in Bipolar Spectrum Disorders, grief, and trauma and have extensive experience with some eating disorders including anorexia and ARFED. I can help you with any anxiety disorder. As a college student you often face adversities such as a lack of stability, increased social and pressures, and a strong push towards academic hyper-achievement. Together with familial and social (media) pressure college students often experience changes in sleep, eating and energy patterns, irritability, a loss of interest in activities previously enjoyed, and substance abuse. Knowing when you need support, and taking the initiative to actually get that help is an important first step in figuring things out.
