If you are the person, everyone turns to, who do YOU turn to? You give everything to everyone else but never have time for you. It gets tiring always being the ''strong'' one. I see you. You might be struggling to get through the day or question yourself and your worth. This can look like anxiety, depression, problems recovering from a traumatic experience as an adult or as a child. I want to help you know what you DESERVE. Find the life you want and be more in control of your thoughts, emotions, and choices. Let's look inward and do this difficult but deeply important and rewarding work together. Currently, I can see clients who reside in Pennsylvania, California and North Carolina.

My speciality is working with young adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, and difficult life transitions. I like getting to know you first so we can build a strong relationship based on trust and reliability. My approach is relatable and laid-back. I'm here to listen, validate, and help you gain self-awareness and confidence. I have vast experience working in various community mental health programs and private practice for over 14 years.
After 13 years of practice in a community organization, I started my private practice here, 7 years ago in West Chester. I believe in a holistic treatment of body, mind and emotional well being. My mantra is Talk. Change. Thrive. Talking about the different issues with a professional that can give different perspectives and ideas with clinical support, leads to Change. Changing those thought patterns leads to healthier behaviors and actions, which moves us to Thrive. Thriving in life and ways of thinking, so that one can become the person one is intended to be, before all the muck in life that affects one’s well being.

At times, people just want to have a conversation and we put off going to counseling, because honestly we tell ourselves that this other thing is just a little bit more important, a bit more pressing. We forget to invest in ourselves. Life is tough, there is no doubt about that; but why go through it alone. Let me be that person for you to aid you through those tough times or I can simply be that someone that you talk with. For a free consultation, learn more about my practice, or set up a counseling appointment, please go to www.thelotuscounselor.com or call (610) 699-9475. I specialize in having conversations and I have experience with: grief, stress management, trauma, depression, anxiety, career counseling, adults and youth and more. I like to work with children, teens, and young adults with mental and behavioral health disorders after being emersed in the public school system for the past decade. Building a rapport and seeing my patients' confidence grow as their condition improves is my 'why'. Helping children and young adults learn how to recognize, manage, and cope with their symptoms as they progress into adulthood to live a peaceful, meaningful life is my goal.
It is the mission of Morris Cognitive Behavioral Consulting to meet clients where they are when they enter treatment and help them come to a place of radical acceptance of their current circumstances. Dr. Morris has an interactive, direct style that, at times, feels more like coaching than traditional psychotherapy. She focuses on enhancing a client’s motivation, as well as helping them find the balance between acceptance and change. Their goal is to locate the “gray area” between extremes in thinking, emotions, and behavior. It is these extremes, which lead to common problems in living, relationship difficulties, or severe mental and behavioral symptoms. Dr. Morris believes in doing more than helping individuals reduce troubling symptoms; she wants to help clients break free from ineffective behavioral patterns and, more importantly, truly heal. She is committed to teaching clients how to stop emotions from controlling their lives. She strives to help clients overcome barriers that keep them stuck in negative behaviors, life patterns, or relationships that hinder their ability to reach their desired goals and live fully. Dr. Morris channels her unrelenting energy, straightforward style, and radical genuineness to help shift clients into resolving these barriers and ineffective patterns. She hopes to enable clients to become more skillful in their everyday experience so they can be more effective at reaching their goals while, ultimately, creating lives worth living. Dr. Morris specializes in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) interventions, strength-based approaches that focus specifically on practical coping skill acquisition, which are uniquely tailored to each client's individual goals. She offers a range of evidence-based therapy, group, and consulting services to children, adolescents, adults, families, schools, and organizations.
How are you doing with the dystopia? I'm Cori, and with me, therapy starts by acknowledging that we are living in the dark ages. But my clients are heroic. They're intrepid. They're wise. They are struggling to make meaning and survive in a harsh and terrifying era. Most of us feel pretty powerless. I try to offer a brand of queer Buddhist wizardry that helps people break generational curses, find the power they DO have, and create community that sustains them. I offer many evidence based approaches to therapy, especially those that help us change our relationship with ourselves, and changing our relationship with life and reality. Existential therapy, acceptance & commitment therapy, and narrative approaches are my bread-and-butter. I also work from a great deal of other experiences; as an activist, queer organizer, drag artist, social work professor, and a student of many wisdom traditions. I lived abroad in both Europe and Asia and know how alienating, frightening, and difficult it can be to adjust to a radically different culture. I studied tàijíquán and Daoist thought on Wǔdāng mountain in central China from 2010 to 2011, and have studied and practiced Buddhism since 2011 with various Tibetan, Bhutanese, and western Lamas.
Our group understands that finding mental health services can be difficult and expensive. Our therapists are committed to providing quality, affordable care to members of our community. We are aware of the importance of making ourselves available to those who are in need of support, and would not be able to afford therapeutic care without use of their insurance. We are proud to partner with Aetna, Cigna, Highmark, Quest, Imagine, & United / Optum insurances to allow their members access to quality mental health services. Our mission is to destigmatize insurance-based mental health services; you do not need to pay private pay rates for quality care
Thoughts can be overwhelming. If you find yourself unable to turn your thoughts off, or if you've ever been told that you're hard on yourself then we can work on making your thoughts and emotions feel more manageable for you. Maybe right now grief, anxiety, or depression are really loud, and together to make them feel less intimidating. We can also work on communication skills, relationship patterns, setting boundaries (knowing when to say no or when to push yourself), and helping you recover from and managing burn-out so that you don't feel trapped to keep pouring from an empty cup. These are areas I'm passionate in. I offer in-person or telehealth sessions on Tuesday, Thursday & Friday. Mondays are only available for telehealth. I also for a free 15minute consultation. To schedule you can reach out by email, phone or click my Headway profile. Through my Headway profile you can also check right away if I take your insurance. I do provide a sliding scale for those paying out of pocket.
