Helping people feel more connected, alive and easeful in a difficult world is what excites me about the therapeutic process. While living with mental health challenges, it is difficult to know how to get unstuck or even to remember a time when things felt okay. I work collaboratively with clients to build on their strengths and identify goals that align with their values. We all develop strategies for survival that can be limiting over time. We can create more options that go beyond old strategies through practicing new ways of relating, recognizing nervous system patterns and strengthening the mind-body connection. Some of the approaches and techniques I use include parts work, attachment theory, mind-body therapy, guided visualization, somatic and movement based therapy. I am trauma focused and informed with an understanding of how systemic oppression contributes to illness, especially for those whose identities are devalued or erased.

After graduating from the Human Development and Family Studies program, I decided to further my education by attending graduate school at Loyola University Maryland. There I obtained my Master's in Counseling Psychology and completed additional coursework so that I could eventually become a Licensed Professional Counselor. Over the last 16 years I have had the pleasure of working with children, teens, young adults and adults. I have experience working with college students and understand the unique pressures that PhD candidates face. I strive to provide an environment that clients feel safe, supported, and validated. The providers at Doylestown Psychological Services work with students who might be having difficulties that impede their functioning at school, at home (or in the dorms or student-housing), or at work. We work with people who have a diagnosis of ADHD or who are on the autism spectrum as well as people who have anxiety, depression, or who are having issues with relationships parental, friendships, romantic).
