Therapists for college students near University of Pittsburgh
At CenteredMind Online, I specialize in working with students who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally drained, and are ready to feel more balanced and in control of their lives. Many of the clients I work with are juggling academic pressures, relationships, and personal expectations, often while hiding how stressed or stuck they feel. On the outside, they may seem high-functioning, but internally they’re quietly struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, or sleep issues. If you’ve been finding it harder to focus, stay motivated, or feel rested, no matter how hard you try, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to figure it out on your own. That’s where I come in. I provide a calm, nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard and understood, and your mental health is finally a priority. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, panic attacks, depression, or simply feeling unmotivated or disconnected, we’ll work together to find a clear path forward. My approach is compassionate, and focused on helping you feel more grounded, and more like yourself again. I offer both medication management and supportive therapy, tailored to your individual needs. Together, we’ll look at what’s getting in your way and build a plan to help you move forward with solutions to help you feel more balanced and centered. CenteredMind Online is a fully virtual psychiatric practice, so you can meet with me from the comfort and privacy of your own space. I offer flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends, to make care more accessible. No commuting. No waiting rooms. Just real support when you need it most. Whether you are living in physical pain or emotional pain, we will work together to help you sleep better, decrease pain, improve relationships, get "unstuck" and feel happier. One of our greatest goals as clinicians is treating you with the support and care you deserve. We not only want to help you feel better, we want to help you live better and move out of negative patterns of behavior that do not serve you. We work from an integrative perspective, meaning that we have been trained in a wide variety of psychological techniques and will combine them to help you achieve your goals. We will teach you to use the tools that help you most, so that you can continue to work with these techniques on your own, once you have completed therapy. And that sense of independence and control you gain over your own life, that will feel truly fulfilling!

When I retired from professional ballet, I attended Princeton University for my undergraduate studies. I started going to therapy and found it helped me participate more fully in my life and find more joy in my experience of college. My interest in mental health led me to study social work at the University of Pennsylvania, followed by sport psychology in Scotland, as a Fulbright scholar. I enjoy working with a variety of people, including athletes/artists/performers navigating transitions and retirement.
Hello! I am a psychologist who enjoys supporting college-age individuals in a variety of ways. In this season of life, academics and social activities can be common stressors, in addition to family and career issues. Students may be struggling with anxiety, depression, or other learning differences that affect them inside and outside the classroom. I enjoy brainstorming and helping young people access the resources they need, both on campus and in their community. I take a holistic approach to healthy living, and look closely at individual habits and behaviors. I also offer a faith-sensitive approach to individuals who would like to include spirituality or religion in their work. I meet with clients in person in our Chalfont and Chester Springs locations, as well as virtually in the 40+ states that participate in PsyPact (https://psypact.gov/page/psypactmap).

Hi, I’m Kristin! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Pennsylvania with a background in outpatient mental health and community-based work. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree of psychology, then went on to obtain a Master’s degree of social work and appropriate licensure. I work primarily with adults who feel overwhelmed, stuck or burned out- especially those who are used to being the “strong one” for everyone else. Many of my clients are navigating anxiety, life transitions, relationship stress, or the quiet exhaustion that comes from constantly holding it together. I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can slow down, gain clarity, and build practical tools that actually fit your life. My approach is collaborative and grounded in evidence-based practices, while still honoring your lived experience. Therapy with me is both compassionate and goal oriented, but I am not afraid to challenge you. We process the hard things, but we also work toward meaningful change. If you’re ready to feel more steady, confident, and in control of your life, I’d be honored to support you.

I work with college students and adults who are navigating stress, anxiety, academic pressures, relationships, and life transitions. I take a collaborative and supportive approach, tailoring therapy to each person’s unique needs and goals. Some clients choose to explore EMDR, and I’m trained to use it when it fits, but many find our sessions helpful through conversation, reflection, and practical coping strategies. I aim to create a space where students feel understood and empowered, whether you’re struggling with burnout, uncertainty about the future, or past experiences that continue to affect your life. I accept BCBS of Michigan and BCN and offer telehealth sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays to make therapy accessible and easy to fit into a busy schedule.
Hi, I’m Kendal McDowell and I've been working in the field since 2019. I'm licensed in both CA and PA and I work specifically with college students and college athletes. Having been a college athlete myself, I'm familiar with the joys and stressors of collegiate life. College can be an exciting and eye opening experience, but sometimes it can also open our eyes to some things within ourselves or those around us we may not have noticed before. Together we’ll work to pin point what’s really going on. We’ll look deeper into areas that range from: relationships, anxiety, and depression. I’m here to help discover what’s causing symptoms or distress, and what we can do about it. We’ll spend time getting to know who you are and what could be missing, to bring more joy and happiness to life. Not sure yet? Reach out to set up a free 15-minute consult- no need to commit to a scheduled appointment right away! You can text/call (717-769-5510), or send me an email (kmcdowellcounseling@gmail.com) to set something up.

I view therapy as a deeply collaborative and relational process. Together, we will work to develop a deeper understanding of your experiences, patterns, and emotions—helping you build insight, create meaningful change, and foster personal growth. By gaining greater self-awareness, you can begin to navigate internal and relational challenges, explore the connections between your past and present, and move toward a more intentional and fulfilling future. My approach integrates a range of therapeutic modalities, with a strong foundation in psychodynamic and relational therapy. I am also extensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which I use to support individuals in developing emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. I strive to provide person-centered care within a safe, supportive, and empathetic environment. Our work together will center on understanding your experiences more fully and finding ways to respond to them with greater clarity and intention.
At Cognitive Pursuits, I provide therapy for athletes and high-achieving professionals and academics who want to strengthen their mental health and enhance performance. With over a decade of clinical experience, including leadership roles at Thomas Jefferson University, I specialize in helping clients manage anxiety, depression, substance use, self-doubt, and burnout. I integrate cognitive-behavioral therapy, positive psychotherapy, and existential psychotherapy—among other evidence-based techniques—to create a supportive, practical, and collaborative space where clients can make meaningful progress toward their goals. I offer both traditional therapy and Performance Anxiety Therapy Intensives — focused, short-term programs designed to help clients gain clarity, build confidence, and develop effective strategies to perform at their best while maintaining balance and wellbeing. Services are available virtually to residents of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. My name is Meghan Morley - I’m a licensed therapist, former NCAA athlete, and personal trainer. My background in both mental health and performance psychology allows me to understand the unique pressures faced by driven individuals—whether in competition, academics, or demanding careers. Before founding Cognitive Pursuits, I served as Clinical Operations Manager at Thomas Jefferson University’s Center on Community Substance Abuse Programs and currently am an adjunct professor at St. Joseph's University counseling graduate program. My work is grounded in the belief that high performance and wellbeing don’t have to compete. I help clients quiet mental noise, build resilience, and reconnect with a sense of confidence and purpose that extends far beyond achievement alone.
My name is Danielle Donovan and I'm so excited to begin this therapeutic journey with you! I currently work full-time as a School Counselor and I have eight years of experience working in the mental and behavioral health fields. I went to The Catholic University of America, where I obtained my bachelor's degree in psychology, and Holy Family University, where I obtained my Master of Science in Counseling Psychology with a School Counseling concentration. Additionally, I enjoy implementing play therapy for children and adolescents to feel they can be honest and receptive in an approachable, engaging way.
