As solution-focused therapists, our goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we can’t change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. Talking with a mental health professional can help alleviate emotional distress and assist with finding solutions to your problems so that you can find your inner balance. If you’re looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you’re just ready to move in a new direction in your life, we look forward to working with you to achieve your goals. Please call or email us for an individual, couples or family therapy.
Chesy Tronchoni Bello, LPC, MT-BC (she/her/ella), is a bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor, Board-Certified Music Therapist, and yoga teacher. She specializes in helping clients navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, trauma, and identity development. Chesy is passionate about working with people from different cultures across the lifespan, especially women, young adults, first and second generation immigrants, and the LGBTQIA community.
Our practice specializes in working with challenges related to trauma and attachment, both in childhood and adulthood. This includes sexual/relationship violence, family of origin challenges (including ACOA issues), and childhood abuse and neglect. This also includes supporting young adults in understanding their own attachment patterns and gaining insight into their patterns in order to increase their ability to find, seek out, and maintain healthy relationships. We offer EMDR and many other trauma modalities.
I provide therapy for young adults and adults struggling with mental health concerns, such as anxiety and depression, personal and family trauma, stress, adjustment disorder, and relationship issues. If you are looking to process through emotions and feelings, reframe negative, defeating thoughts, or make changes to improve your wellbeing, my counseling services may be the right fit for you.
I am a lover of liminal spaces. To me, the liminal, the “in-between”, is a space of great possibility. It lies at the edge of certainty and uncertainty. It beckons us to drop what we think we know and be with what is actually present. My identities and life experiences give me a sense of being “in-between.” I’m a gender fluid, Puerto Rican person who grew up in the diaspora. I grew up in a military family and spent my childhood moving from place to place. As an adult, I continued to move, spending years living and working in the Pacific Islands and Latin America. I explore liminal spaces in my exploration of fiber art, as well as in my music. I love to create new combinations of seemingly opposing elements, whether that is an innovative way of weaving or creating a folksy version of a salsa song. As a therapist, my “in-between” experiences reinforce my belief that when we can stay present in the place of flux, of uncertainty, then change and transformation is possible. I have spent over 8 years providing somatic, present-moment focused, and intuitive psychotherapy to survivors of sexual violence, sexual abuse and individuals experiencing grief. I combine extensive training in Gestalt therapy, Internal Family Systems, psychedelic-assisted therapy and mindfulness-based interventions to aid clients in creating lives they love. My activism and commitment to social justice come to bear in years of experience in community mental health. I believe that personal healing is bound in collective healing, that we are all threads in the larger tapestry of life. Through my practice, I aim to empower individuals to invest in their wholeness, health, and joy, recognizing that we are all the medicine we need.
I specialize in working with young adults struggling with anxiety. During your college years, there is a lot of pressure to figure out who you are and what you want to do with your life. It can seem like everyone else has it figured out or maybe you wonder if you're the only one who feels anxious or uncertain about the future. I will help you work through that anxiety and develop the skills and tools you'll need to feel more confident.
I empower individuals to discover their resiliency, harness the energy of their anxiety in productive ways, and better manage negative unhelpful worry thinking. Anxiety results in the space between overestimating the probability of danger AND underestimating your ability to cope with it. My philosophy for healing is that everyone has strength and resiliency to cope with much more than they could imagine, and through therapy you discover those strengths and how to implement them. I have worked with hundreds of clients in 15+ years as a licensed therapist. Having been an active duty military spouse for 20 years, I have been licensed in 6 states and have vast experience providing therapy to diverse populations in numerous settings with various needs. This led me to a path of focusing more on primary anxiety conditions (such as general anxiety, panic, phobias) to secondary anxiety (from ADHD, autism, sensory integration) to justifiable external stressors (for example, societal, environmental, financial). I use research-proven Virtual Reality Immersion Therapy (VRIT), biofeedback, mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques, Solution-Focused Therapy techniques, and other evidence based models to help clients face fears and anxieties in customized imaginal and constructed virtual environments while teaching the coping skills of mindfulness, thought restructuring, and regulating body sensations. I offer weekend and evening hours, as well as the option for secure messaging and video contact between sessions for established clients. As a Clinical Psychologist, in practice for over 30 years, I have had the privilege of working with a variety of concerns, and view therapy as a collaborative and supportive process. I also have a PSYPACT authorization and can offer telepsychology in participating states.
My passion is to help you learn about mental health and how to better manage any mental health symptoms. Let's get to work!
It's easy to get lost in our own minds. It's common to feel conflict and tension within ourselves as we navigate life's ups, downs and variety of curveballs. So many of us end up saying "A part of me feels.... and yet another part of me feels the complete opposite!". I'm passionate about working with folks who need a little time and space to sort things out. Whether it's anxiety, OCD, depression, relationship turmoil, uncertainty on identity or goals....we can face life's twists and turns together. I'm here to lend an ear and a helping hand. I'm passionate about therapy approaches and tools that are shown to help. Educating my clients and empowering them to take nuggets of awareness or action from each session into life is top of mind for me when we meet. I have years of experience helping folks sort through the burdens of anxiety, depression, emotion regulation struggles, relationship patterns, and OCD. It's always my top priority to work as a team - two humans sitting down in a sacred space to unravel the knots of uncertainty, discover your inner strengths and craft new approaches that can open up the road ahead. This too shall pass.
