Life can be hard. Extremely hard. Sometimes you can’t see your way out. It’s normal. When those hard moments in life come, I’m here to see you through to the other side of your pain. That’s the goal. The other side. I am the owner and lead therapist at Empowered Perspective. I am licensed in the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and received my master’s degree in Human Relations (the study of psychology, sociology, and anthropology) from the University of Oklahoma. The program provided a solid foundation in my journey to counseling. Before arriving here, I worked in Corporate America for over 12 years guiding individuals through their careers as a Global Talent Director. Although I was “successful” by many people's definition, I wasn’t fulfilled. That is when I decided to answer my “calling” and enter into the counseling profession. I am honored that God chose me to do this work. I work with teens, adults, couples, and families and couples suffering from a variety of issues such as depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, and grief. As your counselor, you will get someone who is authentic, straightforward, down-to-earth, and open-minded. My job is not to judge you or your actions. My job is to listen to you, encourage you, walk beside you, and yes, sometimes challenge your perspective. I work primarily from the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Spiritual/Transpersonal Therapy treatment modalities. In simple terms, CBT focuses on how thoughts influence our emotions and behavior. Spiritual Therapy focuses on the body, mind and health of a person’s spirit. It puts an emphasis on a person’s spiritual path or enlightenment during life. There is more to life than existing and living through the pain; more than being a mother, spouse, friend, employee, daughter, or son. Getting through the challenges and roadblocks can sometimes feel insurmountable and confusing. My goal is to help you see the beauty of life, find meaning, and sustainable joy. When you are ready, I am here to help.

I help students build confidence, balance, and emotional resilience through compassionate and evidence-based therapy. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, heal from what’s holding you back, and move forward with a stronger sense of peace and purpose.

Hello! I’m Dr. Harriet Singelyn (she/her) and I provide trauma-informed online therapy to women in Texas who are looking to manage their anxiety, depression, perfectionism, and burnout. You are someone with a big heart who often puts others’ needs before your own. You feel connected to, but often overwhelmed by, your emotional experiences. You pay close attention to mood shifts in your environment, and feel pressure to keep the peace. You are a “people pleaser” who struggles to set boundaries with yourself and others. You feel anxious in relationships and often worry about how you are perceived. You are a perfectionist and hold yourself to a high standard, but when your expectations are unmet, you blame yourself. You feel burned out or even depressed, and no matter how hard you work, you feel like you’re not good enough. If any of the above sounds familiar to you, then we may be a good fit! My main areas of focus include: -Women’s mental health -Self-compassion and self-esteem -Anxiety and perfectionism -Depression and burnout -Relational trauma -LGBTQ+ mental health with a particular expertise in bi+ affirming care -Support for loved ones of people with substance use disorders -Support for adult children of emotionally immature parents I utilize a variety of evidence based techniques and therapeutic styles to help my clients get unstuck and feel better including: -Psychodynamic therapy -Somatic techniques -Parts work -Emotion-focused therapy -DBT skill building -Trauma-informed therapy -Mindful self-compassion The above list can be fit into this nutshell: I bring authenticity (personality, humor, and humanness) into my work and enjoy helping folks like you get curious about who they are, what they need, and how they cope. My style of therapy is a mix of focusing on the present moment (what you think, feel, and need during session), getting curious about the past (how your experiences impact you now), and building new skills to get you where you want to be. It’s time to build a loving relationship with yourself. Here’s the good news: you don’t have to do this on your own. Contact me today to get started!

Perhaps one of the hardest decisions in life is to seek help. You are used to handling everything yourself, but you don’t have to do this alone. We all encounter challenges and/or disadvantages at one point in life, and it is easy to feel discouraged and criticize yourself in this process. Although these difficulties can affect you in profound and painful ways, I believe that they are also opportunities to learn about yourself—acknowledge what is not working and find what will work. This journey is quite exhausting for one person, so I aim to become a part of your support system. As a counselor, I hope to empower each individual to make personal choices that will allow them to discover confidence, direction, happiness, peace, and healing. My role as a therapist is to, first and foremost, create a safe space for your stories to be heard and understood. I will listen to your experiences with compassion, warmth, curiosity, hope, respect, and trust. I believe in genuineness and transparency in the therapeutic relationship, so I will communicate directly yet gently. I offer a collaborative and individualized therapeutic process that allows you to accomplish your goals. In other words, my approach to counseling varies based on what is the best fit for each client. I use creative methods to increase self-awareness and self-reflection (e.g. mindfulness, writing, drawing, music, poetry, activities) because I believe each person has a unique medium of expression. Your commitment to change is also monumental in this process because you are the expert on your life. I will be there as a guide to help you uncover your true potential. I hold a Master of Science degree in Counseling from Southern Methodist University. I work with older adolescent and adult individuals who struggle with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, personality disorders, interpersonal/relationship issues, OCD, ADHD, grief and loss, trauma/PTSD, LGBTQIA+ related issues, transition and change, anger management, stress management and self-care, social justice issues, and low self-confidence. As an Asian American woman, I celebrate diversity and welcome people from all backgrounds.

I have been in the counseling profession for two years. I was drawn to this line of work after witnessing how powerful connection, trust, and a listening ear can be in helping someone navigate life’s challenges, regardless of age. My experience includes treating depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, domestic violence, sexual abuse, and life transitions. I currently work with individuals 12 years and older and in my free time, I love attending sporting events (Go 'Stros!), live concerts and performances, and listening to a good audiobook or podcast with an iced coffee in hand. A journey towards healing starts with taking that first step. If you have questions or would like to schedule a free brief consultation call to help take that first step towards healing please contact me. Paige Ingersoll is an LPC-Associate supervised by Cortnee Wright, M.A., LPC-S.

“We don’t have to do all of it alone, we were never meant to.” -Brene Brown Currently accepting new clients for virtual/Telehealth counseling services and hypnotherapy. My 10+ years of practicing has become enriched with opportunities to work with an array of presenting issues and populations, all of which have deeply impacted, influenced, and enhanced my fulfillment and devotion to the mental health field. I maintain and promote an inclusive mindset, welcoming all human beings to share in a safe space, in order to knock down barriers, and move toward a healthier and more desirable quality of life. While the majority of the clients on my caseload suffer from the lasting effects of trauma/PTSD, a growing pattern, stemming from anxiety, depression, and relational/attachment issues has become a close second.

I am so glad you stopped by! I am eager to work with college students, like yourself, and have a background in working with both undergrad and grad students in the Dallas area. In therapy, I offer a safe and confidential relationship, where you can hope to gain self-esteem, relevant skills, and personal strength, learning to more fully trust yourself and others. A great deal of my clients are wrestling with depression, anxiety, and self-worth due to family/childhood issues and relational struggles that tend to become more apparent once they have entered college. Together, we dig into these hard conversations and I help you relate differently to anxiety, pain, fear, and sadness, while also coming alongside you in creating the life you desire. Finding a therapist you connect with is an important aspect of effective therapy. I will serve you with respect and empathy while encouraging you in your personal journey of growth. I am both honored and committed to meeting you where you are, learning where you want to go, and helping you find the best way there. I hope to talk to you soon!
