Hi, nice to meet you! I believe that everyone can change and grow at any time in their lives. As your therapist, it is my goal to see you become a better and stronger version of yourself. It is my belief that life's experiences teach us things that may no longer be the most helpful or true today; even if they were true at the time in our past. When we don't adapt and remain flexible, we find ourselves in a web of mistaken beliefs, thinking errors and unresolved and unprocessed life problems. As a result, it becomes too hard to find our way and manage life's challenges in the here-and-now. I love to be present and help my clients find a new way and authentically experience change. I've worked with clients from many walks of life and with varied needs. My areas of expertise are in Anxiety, Depression, Women Issues, Life Transition, Christian Counseling and Self-Esteem issues. I use an Eclectic and Holistic approach to help my clients bring out the best in themselves. I like to use humor, challenging questions, and a warm open-minded approach. My favorite activities when I'm not at work are to explore and appreciate the outdoors by traveling, yoga, shopping, and spending time with my family and dog, and trying new exciting restaurants. Selecting a therapist can be difficult because it's not easy to know exactly who you are getting. "Will this person really know what she is talking about? Is she a total Quack? Will she actually be able to help me?" These questions are the norm for clients and uncertainty comes with the territory of what you are searching for. It's my hope that we will make a great team and you will become a better and stronger version of yourself.

I am a relational therapist integrating Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and somatic-informed practices. Virtual sessions. Flexible availability including evenings and weekends. Discounted rates when requested. My speciality areas include: - Grief (Infertility, loss of a loved one, breakups, unfulfilled goals) - Burnout - Complex Family Dynamics - Life Transitions (Motherhood, Career Changes) - Attachment trauma - Pressure that come with a high-demand career My approach to therapy is collaborative and follows a thoughtful process. Together, we explore the roots of your feelings. Often, feelings point to underlying needs, so you and I identify the unmet need your feelings may be drawing attention to. Understanding your feelings is foundational, yet insight alone does not always guide lasting change. Next, we intentionally support your mind and body to process and release emotional tension. Throughout this process, I create a supportive, trusting space where your nervous system can feel secure and you can explore your authentic self. I strive to meet clients where they are, walking alongside them with kindness, empathy, presence, and unwavering commitment to their well-being. I value respectful, kind, direct communication. When requested, I provide Christian counseling, integrating Scripture and the Gospel in a God-honoring space. I'm here to support whatever goals you have for yourself. Emily Keck, a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Texas under the supervision of Casey Davids, LPC-S and LPCA in Kentucky under supervision of Erica Adams, LPCC-S.

Anxiety, trauma, and childhood wounds don’t just disappear. They sneak into daily life and make things feel heavier, even when nothing seems wrong. I work with teens and adults, often helping people whose feelings weren’t fully seen or supported growing up. Anxiety and trauma can show up as overthinking, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or that constant “something’s off” feeling. I take a warm, trauma-informed approach, moving at your pace so you can feel grounded, seen, and in charge of your life. I help teens and adults navigate anxiety, trauma, and childhood wounds using EMDR, Parts Work, somatic techniques, and CBT. Together we build coping skills, process difficult memories, and work toward healing. Therapy can be intense, but we also laugh, roll our eyes at anxiety, and celebrate small wins along the way. I help you care for the inner child you once needed, challenge the beliefs feeding anxiety, and rebuild self-worth. It’s okay if it’s messy, we will work through it together. Step by step, we’ll create space for calm, clarity, and connection. Reach out for a free consultation and let’s get started.

People come to me when they are looking for ways out of being trapped, depressed, anxious or stuck. I work with individuals who don't know how to be their true selves - it is my mission them find ways to live an authentic and empowered life. I am able to hold a lot of complexity and nuance for a variety of human needs and experiences. Especially close to my heart is working with the LGBTQ+ population, or anyone who feels they don't fit into what society, parents, friends, or others expect of them. I also enjoy existential deep dives and those who feel overwhelmed by their emotional landscape. You are the expert on yourself - my role is to help you uncover who that self truly is, and help you to respond to that self with courage, connection and authenticity.

That feeling when ... you can't describe the feeling. Overwhelmed, or maybe anxious. Frustrated. Alone. Misunderstood. Stuck. Unable to see your way forward. I've been there, and I've spent years developing tools to share with you and help guide you on another path. Whether you need help navigating a new phase in your life, need new tools for facing sudden or unexpected changes, or are looking for fresh perspectives, I can help you find your brave and move forward with intention and joy. I have a Master's degree in Community Counseling and have been a counselor for 13 years. What will counseling with me look like? Expect me to be honest, friendly, and direct, and to be willing to laugh and cry with you. You will be in a safe environment where you can explore your feelings and your relationships without judgment. Some days you may need a good listener and some days you might want some new perspective, and I am here to provide both. However, as we get to know each other, I will challenge you to set and make progress towards your goals. Although I use a variety of theories to guide me in my work, you will most likely learn a lot of cognitive behavioral techniques working with me. We will move at your pace, but we will examine what you think, and why you think it, to help you understand your feelings. Understanding your feelings, and how they connect to your thoughts and actions, will be your first step in setting goals towards making the changes you want to see in your life.

College can bring big changes, new pressures, and moments that feel overwhelming. But you don’t have to carry it all on your own. With the right support, these challenges can also become opportunities for growth, confidence, and clarity. I work to help college students navigate transitions, manage stress, and heal from past experiences that may still feel present. In our work together, you’ll find a supportive space where you can be your real self with no pressure and no judgment. Using approaches like Internal Family Systems (IFS) parts work and EMDR, I help clients uncover what’s beneath the surface, strengthen their sense of self, and move toward greater balance and resilience. My goal is to walk alongside you as you learn new ways to thrive, not just get by.

I am a board-certified psychiatrist and Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. For me, being a physician is more than a profession—it is a vocation to help indviduals flourish. My practice is devoted to students and young adults seeking thoughtful, individualized psychiatric care that extends beyond symptom relief. I provide comprehensive evaluations that consider medical, nutritional, lifestyle, and psychological factors—including laboratory testing when clinically appropriate—to identify the contributors to emotional and cognitive health. I also specialize in evidence-based de-prescribing for patients who wish to reduce or discontinue psychiatric medications for anxiety, attention difficulties, or substance use disorders. My approach is guided by precision, humility, and restraint: using the least intensive intervention necessary while drawing upon the full breadth of evidence-based medicine. Depending on each patient's needs and goals, I integrate psychotherapy, nutrition, lifestyle medicine, exercise, targeted supplementation, and, when appropriate, carefully selected medications into a personalized treatment plan. In addition to my clinical work, I have presented internationally on psychiatric deprescribing and medical ethics. My work has been recognized with awards from the American Psychiatric Association, the International Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Allied Professions, the American Psychoanalytic Association, and other leading professional organizations. I am the Founder & Medical Director of Verigrate Health. I am licensed to serve patients in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Lousiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, Washington, D.C., and Wisconsin.

In a few weeks, you could be unstuck from what’s holding you back. Let’s get started. If you’ve never been in therapy, I’ll make this easy. If you're coming back, I’ll honor what you already know. We’ll get to know each other and understand what you'd like to change. During our sessions, you will always be the expert in how your life works, and I’ll share with you a research-based approach to creating mental health. We'll work toward goals as a team, in a process that fits your unique background (e.g., race, ethnicity, gender, sex, sexual orientation identity, religious affiliation); respecting your values is important to me. I use treatments that we know work. These therapies not only help you overcome problems you’re experiencing right now, but I’ll teach you skills to resolve future problem that might come your way, too. While handling emotions in a new way might feel strange, I’ll be there to walk you through the process. I completed a Ph.D. in counseling psychology at the University of Utah, and fellowship in trauma psychology at the South Texas VA. I live in San Antonio, Texas, where I am a professor at the University of Texas School of Medicine. In my free time, I love fitness and exploring small Texas towns. The college experience is not what Hollywood would have you believe. In addition to being academically challenging, students often face other challenges such as learning how to navigate the logistics of life (such as making it to an 8:00 a.m. class!) without the oversight and structure of parents, learning how to establish new friendships, learning relationship skills, and finding balance in their lives. It can simply be overwhelming. You may just need a little help. I am an LCSW and have 30 years experience in the social work field and have spent the past 6 years providing mental health counseling with students in a university setting - my favorite population ever! I have worked with students dealing with adjustment to college, executive functioning, relationship issues and navigating helicopter parents. College students can find themselves experiencing depression, anxiety, OCD and sometimes this is the age when issues like bipolar disorder and schizophrenia arise. Sometimes past trauma begins to rear its ugly head and cause issues that need addressing. Asking for professional help can be scary; but can help you determine if you might just need some skills to help you better cope or if you have deeper issues going on. Just know that you are the one in control in counseling sessions - I can't insist you share more than you are ready to share or "make" you do anything you don't want to do! You are the boss! I would love to walk with you in your journey! This can be a very exciting time and we want you to make the most of the opportunity.
