We know therapy can be nerve-wracking and sometimes awkward, so our approach is rooted in best practices while also being super person-centered. This human first angle will most likely include comfortable conversation, humor, and slight ADHD trains of thought. Our goal is to model authenticity which means, no poker faces over here! Think less suit and tie, more hoodies and pixie dust (or whatever your vibe is). Here, we want to connect with you in a unique way that gives you the empowerment and unnecessary permission to be the you-est you! We want to hear all about your quirky or nerdy hobbies and interests, help analyze those darn complicated relationships and existential thoughts we all have, and encourage you to vent, laugh, cry, cuss, and just breathe.

Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Amanda Tieri, and I’ve been a social worker for over 15 years. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside individuals and families through some of life’s most challenging and most meaningful moments. My work has taken place primarily in healthcare settings, where I’ve supported people of all ages and backgrounds as they navigate illness, loss, transitions, and healing. What I’ve learned over the years is that every person’s story matters. Whether you’re seeking therapy for the first time or returning to it after some time away, I want you to know that this is a space where you will be heard, respected, and supported without judgment. My approach is grounded in compassion, authenticity, and a deep belief in your capacity for growth. I bring not only clinical experience but also a genuine curiosity about who you are and what matters most to you.
With 15 years of experience in the mental health field, my area of expertise is working with individuals struggling with anxiety, panic, OCD, body-focused behaviors like hair pulling/skin picking, eating disorders, ARFID, depression, and life transitions. I provide a warm, nonjudgmental space to explore challenges and build resilience. My approach is collaborative—together, we set meaningful goals, break them into manageable steps, and develop skills and tools for lasting change. I utilize evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Habit Reversal Training, Behavioral Activation, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and strength-based approaches. Whether you're struggling with overwhelming thoughts, navigating a major life change, or seeking tools to improve family or relationship dynamics, I'm here to support you through the journey. Let's chat.
You’re stronger than you think! I want to draw out those strengths so you can be your best self. I am supportive of your struggles and fears, and I will also challenge you to smash those fears and deconstruct the obstacles that seem to stand in your way. I won’t be passive or allow you to be passive about overcoming your unique challenges. No sitting back and asking you, “So how does that make you feel?” We’re going to unpack your life experiences together.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I believe in the power of a growth mindset to strengthen mental health and personal well-being. I work with youth, adults, couples, and families to help them navigate life’s challenges and achieve meaningful growth. My areas of focus include ADHD, anxiety, depression, and substance use. I take a client-centered approach, emphasizing mindfulness, stress management, and self-acceptance. I also value incorporating humor when appropriate to create a supportive and comfortable environment for change.
My personal passion is connecting with those who feel like no one really understands them. I can empathize, as several times in my life I have had those very same feelings. My goal is to help and inspire those who feel disconnected and struggling in life. I aspire to help my clients feel satisfaction, comfort, and joy. With years of experience providing therapy for members of the LGBTQ+ community, clients struggling with spirituality, sexuality, or addiction(s); these topics are my passion and where I have been able to help others navigate. I have real-life experiences such as serving in the military, some trauma, and chronic illness and pain. I have over 20 years’ experience with both civilian and government positions in the fields of Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Child Advocacy, Chronic Illness and Counseling/Educational program delivery to the community. My focus is to help you through growth, change and resolution. Your journey is as distinctive as you are.
Over the past eight years I have worked in the mental health field in a variety of capacities, including inpatient units, residential facilities, and day treatment settings. My experience and training with children, adults, and families in these settings has given me a practical knowledge and understanding when working alongside my clients to facilitate change. A significant part of my experience has been working with adults and children coping with past trauma to safely express their anger, manage their depression, and navigate difficult life events. I strive to meet my clients and their families in the circumstances that they are in and make a collaborative effort to overcome the challenges they face. Each client's history, perspective, and relationships are different which is why I believe each therapeutic approach should be unique to the client. In addition to outpatient therapy, I work part time with the social services department at Rogers Behavioral Health. Forming relationships with clients and being witness to their progress and resiliency is something that has been rewarding. Outside of work I enjoy playing ultimate Frisbee, hiking, reading, and swimming.
I love working with people who are ready to learn and put in the work. Going through treatment for OCD, anxiety, or a related condition is definitely tough - but so is leaving these difficulties untreated. I want to help you gain your life back from OCD, anxiety, and worry, and realize how strong you truly are. There's so much freedom on the other side of fear, and it takes a lot of courage to get there. But I can help you realize all the tricks that OCD and anxiety play on you so you can KNOW better to DO better. I'm on your team now! We're in this together.
