Therapists for college students near Boulder, CO
As a deeply empathetic clinician, I am honored to guide you through your mental health journey. My specialties include helping men, women, and teens navigate life changes, negative self-image, and relationships. I embrace a direct and empowering style, as I believe in the power of the therapeutic alliance, which helps me be your biggest supporter. I look forward to being that source of support for you, collaborating and growing in our work together. In our time together, you can expect a warm and safe environment tailored to your unique goals, as I’m passionate about the belief that healing happens when we feel secure enough to understand ourselves with curiosity rather than criticism. That’s why my approach is always warm, empowering, and grounded in the belief that you know yourself best. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) are two treatments we may explore to help you better understand your behaviors and feelings. My own work in therapy showed me firsthand the value in working with an empathetic therapist during times of emotional upheaval, and how empowering it can be to lean more deeply into who we are as individuals. This knowledge strengthened my commitment to providing compassionate care to each of my patients, allowing me to bring a unique perspective to every session thanks, in great part, to the breadth of my life experiences. When I’m not seeing patients, I love being outdoors with my family, learning and exploring new things (including trying new restaurants!), and watching classic movies from the 80s and 90s. I’m also an avid reader, specifically anything Agatha Christie.
Living with anxiety or a mood disorder can feel isolating, overwhelming, and hard to put into words. You may find yourself overthinking, feeling on edge, or weighed down by intense sadness. At other times, your energy or mood may shift in ways that feel just as unsettling - racing thoughts, difficulty sleeping, or feeling pulled in a million different directions. You may wonder why things feel so much harder for you than they seem for others or feel frustrated by patterns that you can't seem to break. If any of this resonates with you, I see you - and you don't have to go through it on your own. I'm here to help by creating a supportive, nonjudgmental space grounded in empathy and honesty, when it’s helpful. You’re the expert in your life—I’m here to walk alongside you. Together, we will explore your values, build routines that support your mood, and gently shift unhelpful thought patterns. My practice is rooted in a deep respect for the many factors that shape each person’s healing—both within and around them. Having experienced my own transformative work in therapy, I understand the courage and vulnerability it takes to show up. It’s truly an honor to be invited into that journey, and I approach each client with care, humility, and warmth.

Now, I approach every appointment with the understanding that feeling heard is not a luxury in mental health care, but the starting point. My goal is to make sure you feel seen and understood as we work together on your well-being. I enjoy a variety of outdoor activities that help me maintain a healthy work-life balance. Whether hiking through nature, paddle boarding on tranquil waters, rafting down thrilling rivers, or spending quality time with my family, I believe that these experiences enrich my life and enhance my ability to care for others

Hello and welcome! I'm a licensed clinical social worker and licensed addictions counselor providing virtual therapy to BIPOC individuals and families in Colorado who are navigating anxiety, depression, and trauma. I received my master's degree in social work and bachelor's degree in psychology from MSU Denver and my professional background includes over 10 years of experience working with BIPOC adolescents, families, and adults in various settings. Clients would describe me as down-to-earth, grounded, validating, and easy to talk to. I'm trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy which helps with exploring emotions, attachment patterns, and relationship dynamics to create deeper emotional connection and security; EMDR which allows us to process difficult or traumatic experiences that may continue to impact the present; and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy which provides practical tools for managing emotions, navigating stress, improving relationships, and building resilience.
You feel alone, no one understands the pain that you are experiencing. You long for your life to be different, to feel happy again. Wishing that your past didn't define you and your value. You desire to take back the power that your past stole from you. To determine what your future will look like. Wishing you could look in the mirror and recognize and feel connected to the person that you see looking back at you. You desire to have meaningful relationships again, ones that you can trust and not have to fear being hurt. Relationships are a struggle. There is a constant question of safety and trust. Trust used to come so easy and it is now such a foreign concept. Safety? What does that even mean? You struggle to know whether the people around you even care about you, or if they have an ulterior motive. It is hard to feel peaceful and calm when you constantly feel jumpy and on edge. Always aware of your surroundings, you are unable to relax and just enjoy yourself. Being present in the moment feels impossible and you find yourself zoning off, unaware of where you venture to.
Grounded, Compassionate and Practical Therapy I work with people navigating change, loss, grief, relationship changes, identity shifts, and the quiet moments when life no longer fits the way it used to. These are tender, often disorienting seasons, and you don’t have to move through them alone.

Dr. Pettit specializes in treating anxiety and trauma-related disorders across the lifespan, including OCD, social anxiety, PTSD, and panic disorder.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with nearly 15 years of experience and I’m passionate about partnering with individuals on their journey toward improved health and well-being. As a health psychologist, I’ve had the privilege of working with people from all walks of life as they navigate the challenges that often accompany mental and physical health concerns. Currently, I specialize in supporting adolescents and adults dealing with stress, insomnia, anxiety, depression, and other health-related issues. A bit about my approach to therapy: I believe therapy is a deeply personal experience, and it’s essential to understand and support the whole person. It’s important to me that every individual feels respected, heard, and that the goals we work toward in therapy are collaborative and meaningful. My hope is that each person feels supported as they make progress toward their goals and gain tools they can carry with them outside of therapy.
Most of the students I work with are figuring out who they are while juggling school, family, friendships, and their future. Many feel the weight of being “the strong one” for everyone else, but behind closed doors they’re tired, anxious, or questioning if they’re enough. Some are navigating being away from home for the first time, carrying family expectations, or balancing the pressure to succeed with the need to just breathe. Others feel out of place on campus and want a space where they don’t have to explain themselves or code-switch. I connect best with young people under 25 who are ready for honest conversations, who value a therapist that will both listen deeply and challenge them to grow. My goal is to give you room to unpack your story, understand your emotions, and figure out how to move through stress, relationships, and identity with more clarity and confidence.
We are a small private practice located in Fort Collins, CO who treat individuals struggling with depression and/or anxiety. These conditions include a variety of symptoms including feelings of sadness, loss of motivation, low energy, isolation, feeling worthless, disruption to appetite or sleep, racing thoughts, over-thinking, worry, nervousness, and panic attacks. Due to these symptoms, the ability to function normally is impacted, and many of our clients are having difficulty in school and in their relationships. We use an evidence- based treatment called Cognitive Behavior Therapy to address symptoms and help our clients feel better. We work well with individuals who are motivated to make changes and implement the tactics they learn in between sessions. Please visit our website for more information: evolvecounselingnoco.com
Authenticity is central to my work—I show up as my full self so you can feel safe doing the same. As a queer and neurodivergent therapist, I’m passionate about supporting LGBTQIA+ and late-identified neurodivergent individuals in unmasking, exploring identity, and building lives that feel genuine and sustainable. My approach is eclectic and inclusive, drawing from multiple modalities to create care that fits you. I integrate Geek Therapy and continually work to decolonize my practice. I’m sex-positive, kink-aware, and affirming of LGBTQ+ and ENM identities. Let’s work together to help you feel more fully, authentically you.
I am a passionate and empathetic licensed clinical social worker (therapist). I provide a safe and nonjudgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. I am an LGBTQIA+ and neurodiversity-affirming therapist. With a background in schools and special education, I have extensive training and experience working with all kinds of disabilities & within the Gifted and Talented (GT) community, including the overlap of these labels, commonly known as Twice Exceptional or 2E. I also specialize in working with those impacted by mood disorders, depression & anxiety, self-harm behaviors & self-injury, suicidal ideation, & trauma. My therapeutic approach is collaborative, client-centered, and strengths-based. I believe in honoring the unique strengths and perspectives of each individual while providing empathetic support and evidence-based interventions to facilitate healing and personal growth
Finding a therapist can feel overwhelming, but with the right one by your side, true healing can begin. As a clinical social worker specializing in individual psychotherapy, my goal is to make that process feel a little less daunting by offering a collaborative, supportive space where you can show up as you are. My work centers on older adolescents and adults navigating mental health challenges such as anxiety and depression, as well as those moving through life transitions, grief, loss, or anticipated loss. As a queer clinician, providing identity-affirming care is also central to my practice, particularly for those exploring sexuality and gender, or who face systemic barriers to self-expression and self-actualization. If you choose to work together and the connection feels right, I'm confident we can do meaningful work. My approach is strengths-based, relational, and grounded in a person-in-environment perspective, which means I consider you within the greater context of your life, your relationships, and the systems that shape your daily experience. All of my work is rooted in a social justice framework, and a deep belief in every person's inherent dignity and worth. Together, we'll explore the events and relationships — both past and present — that inform how you move through the world, building deeper self-understanding and self-compassion along the way. You can expect a warm, accepting, and responsive environment where the therapeutic approach is tailored to your unique needs and preferences. That often means blending meaningful self-reflection with a growing toolkit of practical skills and techniques you can carry with you outside of our sessions. Before becoming a therapist, nearly a decade was spent working as a professional musician, an experience that instilled a deep appreciation for the courage and vulnerability that authentic self-expression requires. Sitting with our emotions, sharing them, and exploring them can feel scary, but it can also be genuinely beautiful, opening doors to connection and self-discovery that might otherwise stay closed. At my core, connecting with people has always been what drives me. That's why authentic curiosity, empathy, and an open mind are things I bring to every interaction. My education, lived experiences, and professional background all converge in service of one goal: creating a space where you can work toward better understanding yourself and expressing who you truly are. Outside of the therapy room, you'll find me singing, traveling, or cooking and baking for the people I love. Shared meals with friends and family are something I treasure deeply, as are deep belly laughs and adventures with my husband and our dog, Bagel.
LET’S BE HONEST: Existing between worlds is exhausting. Co-existing in multiple worlds and cultures doesn’t come with a roadmap. The competing demands and expectations leave you feeling tugged in opposing directions, and you’re left with the feeling that no matter how hard you try, you’ll never be enough for anyone. Even though there are many people in your life, it feels like nobody from any ‘side’ really gets you, and you’re not sure where you truly belong. You’re tired of facing microaggressions when you’re out and about and obstacles to advancing at work. All this is impacting your relationship, where you’re struggling to communicate and feel a sense of togetherness across the divides.
