Establishing a strong working relationship is essential to positive therapeutic outcomes. I firmly believe that therapy works best when you match well on a personal level. Adjusting to college is hard. There's a lot of pressure to do well academically, socially, personally...and it can be helpful to have an unbiased person to vent to and talk about what you're struggling with. I specialize in treating individuals struggling with primary and secondary trauma. I use a multifaceted approach to therapy to meet my clients where they are and to suit their individual needs, whether trauma is a main focus or not.

Hello! I am a clinical social worker that specializes in working with teens and young adults who have experienced trauma and as a result is experiencing symptoms that are getting in the way of their daily life.
Hello! My name is Erin. I specialize in working with clients with a variety of concerns including PTSD, sexual traumas, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, LGBTQIA concerns, women's issues, divorce, relationship concerns, neurodivergent and more. Therapy works best when my client is motivated for some kind of change, even if they may not know what that looks like. My role is to support them in their journey to find their path. Please note that in accordance to Michigan Law, I participate in monthly supervision meetings with a Ph.D Psychologist, Dr. Julie Davis. I use a combination of CBT, positive psychology, motivational interviewing and more to meet a client where they are. My approach is direct for those who prefer, and softer for those who need a lighter approach. I use humor with my clients and find the absurdities and ironies in life. I am also able to go to the dark places with my clients. I know what it’s like to feel lost and uncertain. I know what it’s like to experience hopelessness and feel a desire to live a more meaningful life. These are just a few of the reasons I became a therapist. Participating in my own therapy from a young age helped me understand I wanted to others navigate these difficult feelings for a more fulfilling life.
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, especially when you are already juggling classes, relationships, and figuring out your next steps. But you don’t have to navigate it all alone. I believe therapy is a collaborative partnership where you are the expert on your own life. My goal is to provide a safe, non-judgmental, and deeply supportive space where you can unpack whatever is weighing you down. I often remind my clients that healing isn’t about erasing the past or pretending everything is perfect; it’s about learning how to live fully right now, even while you are working through old wounds. We all have chapters of our lives shaped by the pain of betrayal, loss, or stress—but those chapters do not get to dictate the rest of your story.

College can bring pressure, stress, and big transitions, but it can also be a time of discovery. Together, we’ll focus on curiosity over judgment and self-compassion over shame. Life can be challenging at times. Sometimes the guidance of a professional can provide you the clarity needed to help you move forward. I work with individuals seeking treatment for depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, substance use, codependency and life transitions as well as with families wanting to improve their relationship with one another. I have 25 years of experience working with families, specifically those dealing with estrangement, substance use and mood disorders. My theoretical framework is grounded in structural and internal family systems, lifespan development and attachment theory; interventions I use are framed within the context of feminist and gender theory. As your therapist I will strive to provide a supportive, accepting and collaborative space that helps you achieve lasting change and resilience. Life can feel overwhelming, especially when you are trying to balance school, work, relationships, family expectations, or figuring out what is next. You don't have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. I offer a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can show up as you are and talk openly about what's on your mind. Together, we'll work on understanding what you are going through, managing stress, anxiety, and difficult emotions, and building practical skills to help you feel more confident and grounded. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, identity, and major life changes like college, starting a career, or simply learning how to navigate adulthood. Whether you are considering therapy for the first time or coming back after a break, my goal is to make the experience feel welcoming, collaborative, and helpful. I currently offer virtual therapy sessions for Michigan residents.
