As a Dialectical Behavior Therapist, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we can’t change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will develop skills to manage your emotional dysregulation that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. If you’re looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation or you’re just ready to move in a new direction in your life, I look forward to working with you to achieve your goals.

You don't have to be in crisis to talk to a therapist. A lot of the students we work with come in because they're stressed, stretched thin, or trying to make sense of something they've been carrying for a while. At Banyan Tree Counseling & Wellness, we offer a steady, judgment-free space where you can be yourself, and our therapists partner with you to figure things out together. Beyond therapy, we also offer psychiatric medication management and nutritional services so you can get well-rounded care in one place, in person at our North Carolina locations or online, and we welcome students of every background, identity, and story.
We are a diverse group of clinicians specializing in treatment of clients dealing with psychological and behavioral challenges. We offer individual, couple and family therapy. Our core values are quality of care, individualized approach, person centered & cultural competence.
My approach to therapy centers around the belief that every individual has inherent dignity, and is worthy to be seen, heard, and cared for. Anyone is welcome into my office. Every life experience is unique, and often these experiences can carry specific hurts, pains and sorrows. When life feels overwhelmingly challenging and burdensome, counseling can be a wonderful mechanism to assist in times of need. I believe that peace and joy are possible, and that no story is hopeless, because no story is done being written. As a client, I want you to feel safe and most importantly, listened to. As you get the chance to share your story with me, my goal is to build trust with you and help establish what you'd like to work on. According to your specific wants and needs, we will collaborate together and use a variety of therapeutic approaches to get you to a better place. Whatever season you're in, you don't have to walk it alone. Please don't hesitate to reach out to find what you need during this time.

My name is Laura Fisher-Caudill (she/her), and as a trauma therapist and human, I am excited to get to know you. As a highly sensitive, empathetic person with big emotions, I love helping other empathetic humans heal from past trauma. As someone who’s experienced mental health struggles and complex trauma throughout my life experience, it’s been incredibly rewarding to provide a space where people can create meaningful connections between their past experiences and current realities and work towards healing from past trauma to find their own inner control, wisdom, and growth in the process. I am deeply committed to helping clients I work with find their inner strength, resilience, and the tools they need to heal from the past and create a life filled with purpose, joy, and fulfillment. My goal is to empower others in learning effective tools for navigating emotional distress and unburdening the pain of past trauma to create their lives worth living! My clients often describe themselves and their experiences as: Cycle breakers in their family systems. They often have lived experience as the “golden child” or “scapegoat” in their family of origin and may struggle with boundary setting or understanding the impact of childhood dynamics on their relationships and trauma responses in the present. Adult children of parents who were/are emotionally immature and/or have narcissistic behavior patterns. Complex traumatic experiences throughout their lifetimes, such as emotional invalidation or emotional trauma/neglect, criticism, and/or judgment by caregivers, being parentified early in life or expected (either overtly or covertly) to caretake emotional needs of their parents and not have needs of their own, being placed in the role of peacekeeper in their family system, and may have experienced sexual, physical, or other forms of abuse as well. Living with a chronically dysregulated nervous system due to experiences of complex traumatic events throughout their lives, often beginning at a very young age. Somatic, or body based, symptoms of complex trauma, such as chronic pain, illness, stored emotions in hips, shoulders and other areas of the physical body. Neurodivergent, specifically being highly sensitive to sensory experiences, emotionally intense, empathetic humans who identify as being gifted and/or having ADHD. Members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Parents, partners, or loved ones of members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
You may be feeling stuck—restless, lost, or weighed down by things you don’t fully understand. Maybe it’s unfinished business from childhood, the pressure to always have it together, or just a nagging sense that something is missing. I get it. Life can be overwhelming, and it’s easy to feel lost in the noise. During my time in the military, I saw how deeply these struggles run, and I’ve spent my career helping people work through them. I will offer you non-judgmental space where you can sort through it all. Therapy isn’t about quick fixes—it’s about real conversations, self-discovery, and building the life you actually want. My mission as your therapist is to collaborate with you in discovering your higher self. I practice from a Person-Centered lens that blends aspects of Gestalt Therapy, CBT, ACT, and Motivational Interviewing. I am also trained in Natural Flow EMDR & Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy. I will treat you like a human, not a science project. I pride myself on my laidback, casual style and in this approach I hope to show you that therapy is not as intimidating or mysterious as it may seem. I urge you to come exactly as you are, bringing your whole self. I appreciate you and I look forward to meeting you very soon.

Hey there! I provide virtual therapy for adults navigating OCD, ADHD, anxiety, and depressive symptoms - many of whom are unpacking intimacy, identity, and religious trauma. My approach is affirming, and grounded in empowerment. I'm LGBTQ+ friendly and deeply anti-judgment. I meet you where you are, not where you think you should be. Together, we challenge shame and rigid beliefs while building insight, autonomy, and self trust so life can feel more authentic and connected. Whether you are seeking relief from emotional distress, healing from past experiences, or finding a deeper connection with your authentic self, I am dedicated to come alongside you on your journey toward growth and well-being. Sessions are collaborative, gentle, and focused on both symptom relief and deeper insight. Clients often describe our work as calming, clarifying, and real. My goal is to offer a therapeutic space where you feel safe to show up fully, without judgment, and explore what healing looks like for you. Therapy isn’t about 'fixing' you. It’s about supporting the version of you that’s already trying to grow.
And..... ACTION! Let's face it, Life can be a doozy sometimes and at some point trying to be "on" is exhausting. You think you're doing everything right but nothing turns out the way you think it should. You start to think, "What's the point? Why even try?" You're tired and just want things to be different. Better. I get it. So don't go it alone, let's talk about it. Let's throw some thoughts and solutions out there and see what sticks. You may feel stuck, but YOU'RE NOT ALONE. Call me and let's get you back on track to the best version of yourself. 'Cuz, at the end of the day, Life is tough. But if you're reading this, so are you. TTYL :)
I utilize evidence-based practices (EBP) to ensure the most effective and beneficial outcomes for clients. EBP involves integrating best research evidence with clinical expertise and client values to make informed decisions about treatment plans. For example, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for anxiety is an evidence-based approach, as research supports its effectiveness in alleviating anxiety symptom. I have an extensive history treating individuals with anxiety, depression, PTSD, etc working in the private sector, VA, state facilities and other government agencies .

As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC), I work with clients ages 12 and up who are ready to grow, heal, and create meaningful change in their lives. I have a passion for working with teens and college students, women navigating divorce, men working through intimacy concerns, and individuals facing major transitions in their careers, families, and relationships. I support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and self-doubt, as well as those who simply feel “stuck” and want more clarity and confidence. My style is warm, authentic, and conversational. I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable, understood, and even able to laugh along the way. I use approaches such as CBT, IFS, and DBT skills, along with practical mindfulness tools and self-esteem work to help you feel more grounded and empowered. I offer in person and virtual. Life doesn’t come with a manual — and sometimes we all need support finding our footing again. I am deeply person-centered and value honesty, compassion, and collaboration. Together, we will work toward understanding your patterns, strengthening your confidence, and helping you build a life that feels more balanced and fulfilling.
