When many people begin therapy, they don't know where to start. That is totally normal and no one I see needs to have all the answers right now. The people I work with often are going through a tough transition, experiencing stress at school, struggling with feelings of anxiety or depression, or they may have had something really distressing happen to them. Often, they may be noticing patterns of avoidance, procrastination, and self-shaming. Sometimes they're also experiencing stress in their relationships. Whatever is happening, I honor how challenging the process of reaching out for support can be, and I am here to help by working together with those who come to my practice. I specialize in attachment based EMDR therapy, which is incredibly useful for addressing distressing events (in the past or present); chronic stress, severe anxiety, and feeling like you are "stuck" on an issue that just doesn't seem to go away. It can also help resolve old wounds that are impacting current relationships. I'm here to help make the process of beginning therapy easier and help create a sense of safety by collaborating with you to address your needs. I also respect that paying for therapy can be complicated. To help, I offer a service where I can submit billing info to a service that files documentation with your insurance company for out-of-network reimbursements. If eligible, you may be able to receive a portion of your money back for therapy, making payment easier. I am also able to check to see if you're eligible for reimbursement. If you are a student in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or Florida, the next step is to email or call me today. I look forward to connecting!
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Newtown, PA, certified in trauma. I am passionate about supporting adults and teens who are struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, sadness, loneliness, disconnection, panic attacks, or overwhelming stress. I also work with couples who want to strengthen their bond or work through challenging conflicts. My mission is to provide a warm and understanding space where clients can find the tools they need to move forward in a healthy and fulfilling way. I specialize in trauma therapy because I know how deeply it can affect every part of a person's life. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness practices, I help individuals explore how trauma shapes their thoughts and behaviors. Together, we work on grounding and coping techniques that foster resilience, empowering clients to regain a sense of control and safety. My approach is about more than just managing symptoms—it's about helping clients develop healthier, more positive ways of thinking and living. I support them in recognizing and changing negative thought patterns, building coping skills that encourage self-compassion, and fostering deeper connections to themselves and others. I believe in working collaboratively, setting clear and achievable mental health goals, and guiding clients toward lasting change and personal growth. Sessions are usually 50 minutes long, but if you feel like you've shared everything and are ready to conclude, we'll end the session when it feels right for you. Therapy is about your needs and pace, but as your therapist, I will guide and support you throughout the process. I offer both weekly and biweekly appointments, depending on what best suits your journey. The environment I create is warm, empathic, and caring—ensuring you feel safe, understood, and supported as we work together toward your goals. I also offer telehealth therapy, so you can access support from the comfort of your own space.
I often work with clients who have anxiety or depression about school or work or relationships. They may have relationship problems with friends or romantic partners or struggle with social anxiety or school performance anxiety. Some of my clients are dealing with divorce or are couples trying to work through issues in their relationships including poor communication or affairs.

Hi, I'm Dr. Annie Moten. Since earning my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Rutgers University, I have approached therapy as a collaborative journey, walking alongside my clients to help them understand their experiences without judgment. My goal is to support individuals in creating a life that acknowledges both their pain and their potential for growth. I strive to build trust through straightforwardness, kindness, irreverence, and humor, creating a space that is both safe and empowering. Drawing on my extensive DBT training and lived experience, I foster emotional containment and autonomy. I also incorporate creative outlets. Our approach at Better Life Associates is active and collaborative. We believe that a strong working alliance with our patients is critical to help achieve emotional insights in treatment that lead to positive and lasting change. We also help identify patterns of behavior that hold individuals back from leading a better and more fulfilling life. Whether you are seeking in-person treatment in Long Island, NY or teletherapy in NY, NJ, or PA, I'd be delighted to hear from you. I have limited therapy session times currently available in my schedule, so let's set up an initial preliminary call soon to discuss how we can work together.

“The path isn’t a straight line; it’s a spiral. You continually come back to things you thought you understood and see deeper truths.” ~ Barry H. Gillespie My approach is holistic, somatic, compassionate, and collaborative. Somatic psychotherapy allows you to get to the root of your concerns. While traditional talk therapy can be helpful, therapists and healers are realizing the importance of including the body into the therapy process. By blending somatic practices based in the Hatha yoga tradition, you will come to a better understanding of how to regulate your nervous system, and therefore find relief, ease, and strength. As a LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist, I am deeply passionate about working with clients who are a part of the community. My specialties include: addiction, trauma/C-PTSD, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, ecological despair/anxiety, religious trauma, Women’s issues, HSP (highly sensitive persons), and bipolar/borderline. I am a licensed counselor, board-certified art therapist, and trauma-informed yoga practitioner who blends evidence-based treatments into a creative and personalized approach. I specialize as a HAES (Health At Every Size) clinician who utilizes mind-body approaches such as art therapy, somatic therapy, and yoga in conjunction with talk therapy to treat bio-psycho-social disorders such as eating disorders and disordered eating. My clients are looking to make lasting and impactful changes in their lives to gain insight into their mental health and improve their own well-being. I believe humor and creativity are integral to building a therapeutic relationship. I specialize in art therapy where individuals may work through their issues by gaining insight and expressing themselves through metaphor. Clients will gain greater insight into their mind-body connection, and how they can utilize their strengths to minimize feelings of shame and increase overall life satisfaction. I can assist in improving one's relationship with food, movement, perfectionist tendencies, and themselves. My clients work towards gaining insight into their mental health and its mind-body connection by identifying triggers, warning signs, and impacts of distress. My clients build coping and calming skills to manage symptoms, improving executive functioning, boundaries, and relationships with others and themselves.
Anxiety is our least-welcome companion. It holds us back when we try to take a step forward. It stands in the way when we try to connect with others. It convinces us that the world is scary and the safest place is our home. Anxiety wears many masks, but the best defense is learning how to identify it when it pops into our lives and combat it with a variety of techniques you will learn in therapy. Together we can chip away at what holds you back in your life and build strong coping skills that will prepare you for a successful life ahead. Right now I'm offering both in-person and Tele-therapy appointments. Check out my website SeanDCleary.com for more information or if you'd like to get in touch. I look forward to meeting you.
Welcoming in creatives, artists, and performers! Currently accepting new clients. Has your creative drive disappeared behind a booming inner critic that’s never satisfied? Ever wondered why you’ve been in therapy for years, but the old problems persist? I specialize in helping creatives like you, with histories of relational or sexual trauma, heal from the inside out; building internal spaces of worthiness that aren’t dependent on external validation to feel whole. I use music, somatic work, and depth psychology to partner with you, going beyond words into the layers of your emotional world. Trauma lives in the body, but so does music. Together, we’ll use the music you love to explore and gently move through the memories, beliefs, and responses keeping you stuck, so you can build a home within. This work is often spiritual, guided by your imagination, embodied awareness, and inner wisdom. We ask: what was wrong with what happened to you? Not, what is wrong with you. My warm, compassionate approach supports reconnection with your authentic self. Please visit my website to book your first appointment or email me with any questions.
Okay, let me guess — life feels like a lot right now. You’re overwhelmed, drained, and stuck in patterns that just aren’t working anymore. Maybe you’re questioning your relationships, struggling at work, or wondering why you feel so disconnected. That glass of whiskey, wine, or weed isn’t helping like it used to. With nearly 20 years of experience, I use Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help you process difficult emotions, release what’s weighing you down, and reconnect with yourself. Together, we’ll create a path toward feeling more grounded and at peace. I help people work through anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, and feeling emotionally drained. ART helps resolve distressing memories quickly, while IFS helps you understand and care for the parts of yourself that feel stuck or overwhelmed. My approach is compassionate and direct — focused on helping you feel more grounded and in control of your life. You don’t have to figure it out alone. While you might not feel it right now, you know you’re ready for change. I’d be honored to support you as you take the first step toward relief and clarity. I’m out-of-network with insurance, but we can explore ways to make it work. You’re worth the effort — reach out when you’re ready.
