Hi, I am Dr. Kenya! Have you been experiencing anxiety or feel depressed regarding relationships, college adjustments, or family stressors? How about self-esteem, navigating social life, and setting boundaries? Well, there is room for you here! I am to cultivate a space that offers liberation and freedom to explore, to learn how to be your authentic self, and tap into your vulnerability while striving to reach your personal and professional goals. I cannot wait to work with you!
I have been crossing lines of different cultures and expectations for my whole life, and helping others to do so too. My best work is with helping people manage borderline symptoms, depression/anxiety, "oppositional-defiant" behavior, and/or ADHD. I care a lot about strong foundations in the original ideas of the different treatment modalities I use, like CBT, ACT, or DBT (the original "lore," if you will). At the same time, I'm always looking for connections to the various stories and narratives my clients find meaningful in your own everyday lives, whether it's from anime, the Bible, historical figures, or any mix.
My goal is to provide quality behavioral based therapeutic services to adolescents, individuals, and couples in a caring environment. Through our collaborative work we will seek to promote a positive sense of self, while lessoning the experience of anxiety and worry which can inhibit your life. I have over 10 years of social work experience working with children and families, as well as 5 years working in a crisis setting and with individuals suffering from Substance Use Disorders. I have worked with individuals with a variety of concerns including, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, crisis intervention, and relationship stressors.
I aim to create an environment that helps people feel comfortable working through issues, without fear of judgment or bias. I use a productive client-centered approach with cognitive-behavioral interventions that are balanced, earnest, and comprehensive. Potential goals of therapy are to help couples develop emotional attunement, establish an individual identity, or discover new depths of connection. I also work with adults seeking support for depression, anxiety, grief, sobriety, marriage and family issues, premarital counseling, and general life transitions.
Medication management for mood disorders and attention deficit hyperactivity disorders.
We are a faith-based private practice.
During our sessions together, I will support you in exploring the many parts of you and how they came to be. I will work with you to identify the negative messages connected to these parts of you. We will form a relationship with these parts and create a safe place for all of you to be seen, heard, and understood. In this safe place, you will heal yourself. Developing my own internal resources has helped me to move through some very difficult times as a member of the LGBTQ+ community. Using evidence based research, I provide care that values every part of you and respects where you came from. In those moments of pain and struggle and self-discovery, I will help you to choose yourself. I seek to create a safe and inclusive space for black-bodied individuals, first generation immigrants, LGBTQ+ folks, survivors of trauma, sex workers, and clients who are struggling with relationship and intimacy issues. My approach to mental health care is rooted in anti-oppressive and decolonizing frameworks. The treatment modalities that I use have been found to be effective across many cultures, ages, genders, and experiences. I am here to support my clients in rediscovering themselves, strengthening their mind-body connection, and living the life they have always wanted.
Hi, I’m Amanda. I work with individuals and couples who want to get to the root of their patterns—whether it’s relational conflict, trauma symptoms, anxiety, or a sense that something deeper is in the way of fully living. Many of my clients are high-functioning on the outside but exhausted internally. Others feel flooded, shut down, or stuck in dynamics they can’t quite name. I help you slow down and listen to the wisdom of your nervous system, so we can understand how past experiences may still be living in your body—and gently unwind them. My approach integrates EMDR, somatic therapy, parts work (IFS-informed), and body-based listening tools like the Safe and Sound or Rest and Restore Protocol. I also offer Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy for those seeking an altered state of consciousness to process trauma or reconnect with meaning. When working with couples, I draw from Relational Life Therapy to help partners move beyond blame and disconnection and into clarity, ownership, and renewed connection. I also offer Discernment Counseling which is a short term focused therapy for couples unsure whether to stay or separate—with compassion for both perspectives. Outside the therapy room, I spend as much time as I can outdoors—going on “bug hunts” with my son, hiking local trails with my husband, or exploring a new interest in horseback riding. I also love yoga, travel, and quiet mornings with coffee and books. If you’re ready to get curious about what your symptoms are trying to say—and want to feel more connected to yourself and your relationships—I’d be honored to support your journey.
