I work with adolescents, young adults and adults who are looking to better understand themselves and create a more meaningful, connected life. I support clients navigating a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, identity development, and relational challenges. My style is warm, open, and curious, and I strive to create a supportive space where we can explore what matters most to you. Together, we’ll tailor therapy to your unique values, goals, and lived experiences—especially in the areas where you feel stuck or uncertain. I bring over a decade of experience providing therapy that is collaborative, culturally responsive, and tailored to the unique needs of each person. My training is integrative—I draw from psychodynamic, relational, and behavioral approaches to support meaningful and lasting growth. Finding a therapist who feels like the right fit can be one of the hardest—and most important—steps in starting therapy. If you’re curious about working together, I’d love to offer a free phone consultation to learn more about what you’re looking for, answer any questions you might have, and talk about how I can support you in your therapy journey. Feel free to outreach me or schedule a consultation at https://drlindseyharcus.sessionshealth.com/.

I tend to work well with people who spend a lot of time in their heads. Maybe you overthink, struggle with doubt, get stuck on certain thoughts, questions, or fears, or find yourself searching for a sense of certainty that never seems to last. Maybe you struggle with anxiety, OCD, stress, burnout, trauma, perfectionism, or simply feel “stuck” in cycles you can’t seem to break. Our work is about getting unstuck. It’s about reconnecting with your life. It’s about having more freedom to live it. OCD is a particular interest of mine and part of why I started this practice. It is a complex disorder that is often misunderstood and misdiagnosed, in part because of the narrow way we tend to talk about it. I want to provide a space where the complexity of the experience is understood. I strive to be warm, genuine, curious, and completely nonjudgmental. Therapy is personal, and finding the right therapist matters. If you’re wondering whether I might be the right fit for you, I share much more about myself and my approach on my website. And if you decide to reach out, I encourage you to do so imperfectly. You don’t need to overthink this.
I work well with clients experiencing anxiety, overcoming trauma, having relationship problems, or feeling uncertain about transitioning into the "real world." Licensed for telehealth in New York, Colorado, Utah, Virginia

As a whole, our team works with children ages 5 & up, teens, adults, couples and families. We have therapists that specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, addictions, school issues, parenting issues, high-conflict relationships and families, infidelity, conflict resolution, codependency, military life and women's issues. A clinically focused therapist, I specialize in a trauma-informed approach to managing burnout, anxiety, gender dysphoria, and the many complications that come with queer and neurodivergent identities. I often work with adolescent and adult trauma survivors, queer and transgender folks, and anyone else who feels left behind by the white, able-bodied, neurotypical, hetero-centric, and/or cisgender expectations of our society. You may have spent a long time navigating a world that wasn't built with you in mind. Maybe you're wondering whether the things keeping you up at night are real and valid, or if they're just "all in your head." Maybe you've recently received or suspect a diagnosis of ADHD, Autism, or OCD, and you're trying to make sense of what that means for your life. Or maybe you're working toward living out your queerest, most authentic self, and you're looking for a space where that journey is celebrated rather than questioned. No matter what brings you here, my work is grounded in transparency and accountability, and in the belief that every human being carries a natural capacity to heal and grow. That belief shapes how I show up for you: as a forward-thinking, inventive partner who takes your experience seriously. Everyone has something to be proud of, a vast and sometimes hidden greatness that is uniquely theirs. I look forward to seeing yours, and helping you build a life you'd never imagined you could live. At the center of my work is the belief that no matter how different your brain, body, or soul might seem to others, or how long you've been living in survival mode, it is possible to build a life you can genuinely thrive in. That belief isn't a slogan; it's the foundation of my work with each and every patient. Resilience, adaptation, and self-acceptance are the goals we work toward together. To get there, I draw from a wide range of approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems, narrative therapy, and attachment theory — selecting and combining tools based on what fits you, not a predetermined framework. My style is strengths-based and highly individualized to your background and goals, supporting you in a judgment-free environment as you build a happiness that is uniquely yours. My path to becoming a therapist began with my own gender transition in 2021. At what was the most fearful and uncertain time of my life, I was fortunate to have guides and mentors who helped me not just understand, but love who I was. They taught me to seek my joy in everything, and believed I was beautiful before I could see it myself. Since then, I've wanted nothing more than to give that same gift to others: authentic care, patience, and the vision to see that each of us, no matter how hurt or how different we might be, is a beautiful thread in the rich tapestry of life. When you sit across from me, that history comes with me, as a reminder of what it means to be seen by someone who truly believes in you, and as a commitment to being that person for you. In my spare time, I enjoy playing board games with my friends, sword-fighting at local LARP clubs, carving and crafting various leather gifts, and living a very gay domestic life with my partners, who love taking me out to KBBQ on the weekends.
If you are feeling dissatisfied in your relationships or if you are feeling anxious and stuck adjusting to changes, we will work together to find hope in your life and growth towards your goals. I work with couples and adults who are highly motivated to learn communication strategies that lead to genuine connection, collaboration and compromise, and unlearn communication patterns that lead to disconnection, disappointment and despair. As a life long learner, I am passionate about helping individuals, students and professionals identify their purpose, meaning and "why" as an antidote to burnout and stress. I have experience with Dialectical Behavioral Therapy which provides a helpful set of tools to cope with distress and help you be more present in the moment. I have Level 2 training in Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy. As a fellow parent, I enjoy supporting couples and individuals as you adjust to the joys and stressors of becoming parents and helping you balance the flexibility and structure required in expanding your family unit. I have Level 2 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy which offers evidenced-based accessible, practical, take home communication tools to build your relationship. Please reach out to schedule a free video consultation to see if we're a good fit!
Ready to become unstuck and empowered to take charge of your deepest struggles? Many aspects of our lives can make us feel completely powerless, but having a therapeutic guide can remind us of what we already know about ourselves while pushing us to think outside the box, discover personal meaning, and branch out of our comfort zones. I enjoy using creative, trauma-informed therapeutic interventions that will help you embrace your complex and beautifully human life journey. I’m ready to meet you where you are with intuition and empathy. Together, we can initiate healing that leads you toward confidence, fulfillment, and wholeness. You may feel stuck in repeating family patterns, unprocessed trauma, mood instability, low self-esteem, identity confusion, unwanted substance use, or disconnection from yourself. Regardless of the presenting challenges and diagnoses, I often focus on how your struggles relate to and are impacted by the systems in which you exist, such as family, intimate relationships, friendships, work, and society as a whole. I also believe therapy can hold both depth and humanity. Humor, authenticity, and genuine connection are part of the process. Even when we’re discussing difficult or uncomfortable topics, you will be met with openness, curiosity, and no judgment. I'd love to hear from you if you have questions or are interested in involving me in whatever journey you're on!
I work with people who believe that relationships (with others, ourselves, and our environments) are what make life meaningful. If you’re struggling to feel consistent or fulfilled, I can provide support while we work to identify and address the contributing issues. I have a special interest in self-esteem related to ADHD and learning disabilities but work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families around a variety of issues. I can help you explore how past experiences impact current patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behavior. Together, we’ll work to help you facilitate meaningful changes based on these insights and increase your sense of mastery and control over your reality. My style utilizes both contemplative and evidence-based (DBT, ACT) modalities of therapy.
I work best with students who may look capable on the outside but feel overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or exhausted underneath. Many of my clients are neurodivergent, LGBTQ+, coping with trauma, struggling with perfectionism or intrusive thoughts, or trying to navigate major life transitions. My approach is warm, direct, and practical. I help clients better understand what is happening, build skills that fit their lives, and make meaningful changes without expecting them to become someone they are not.
Annah works best with college students and young adults who feel stuck in the middle of big life transitions. Many of the students she supports are neurodivergent and feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or pressured to mask in order to fit in. Others are working through the impact of past family experiences that still show up in current relationships. They’re trying to understand who they are, manage expectations, and create healthier patterns without burning out. Annah has 14 years of experience working with neurodivergent folks and young adults. She offers a warm, relaxed space where students feel welcomed as they are. Her style is collaborative, practical, and grounded in real conversations, using humor and thoughtful questions to help therapy feel less intimidating and more human. Sessions focus on building insight while also learning tools students can use in everyday life. Students who struggled to connect with past therapists often feel comfortable with Annah quickly. She meets students where they are, moves at their pace while still offering gentle challenges, and prioritizes creating a space that feels safe, affirming, and genuinely understanding.
Reaching out for psychiatric care can be difficult. You may be concerned about being judged, unsure about medication, or discouraged by previous treatment experiences. As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I believe care should be built on trust, honesty, respect, and collaboration. My role is to listen without judgment, explain your options clearly, and make sure you have a meaningful voice in treatment. I work with people of all backgrounds, including adolescents, adults, veterans, military-connected individuals, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. Many patients come to me because they want to better understand what they’re experiencing and find a treatment plan that feels manageable. These struggles may result in feeling constantly on guard, depressed, hopeless, unmotivated, or unable to concentrate – with symptoms that often affect sleep, relationships, school, work, and day-to-day functioning. Other psychiatric conditions include PTSD, mood disorders, and ADHD. No matter what you’re facing, my aim is to create a therapeutic relationship built on trust, honesty, respect, and collaboration to better help you improve sleep, focus, emotional stability, relationships, motivation, and overall quality of life. My work as a psychiatric clinician centers on evaluations, diagnoses, medication management, supportive therapy, treatment planning, and patient education, all guided by a collaborative, patient-centered approach built on shared decision-making. Rather than simply prescribing a path forward, I take time to listen and explain treatment options clearly, so you understand the potential benefits and risks of each one before deciding together what makes sense. From there, your treatment plan is built around your specific symptoms, goals, preferences, and past response to care. That same collaborative spirit shapes what it feels like to work with me day to day. My style is calm, conversational, and grounded in a supportive, respectful environment where you're never just receiving instructions. Through medication management, supportive therapy, motivational interviewing, and education, I help you better understand what you're experiencing and take an active role in your own treatment. As your goals and experiences evolve, so does your plan, since care here is never meant to be static. My approach to mental health care has been shaped by 25 years of experience as an Army combat medic, critical care nurse, and psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner. These roles gave me firsthand insight into trauma, crisis, resilience, and the effects of high-stress environments on individuals and families. I also hold a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, a Master of Business Administration, and the Healthcare Ethics Consultant-Certified credential. This combination of clinical, leadership, and healthcare ethics training strengthens my commitment to thoughtful, evidence-based treatments that respect each patient's values, autonomy, and individual circumstances. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our four children. Our family is actively involved in Scouting America, which gives us opportunities to serve our community, spend time outdoors, and learn new skills together. I also enjoy fishing, camping, kayaking, gaming, reading, and woodworking.
I want you to feel like you can be your best self every day and feel comfortable in your own skin whether your in class, among friends, at home, or in your studio. We can come up with a plan to meet your goals and identify tools and explore ways to help you be the wonderful, creative, and joyful person you're meant to be.
